So a new era begins, old face but new name on the door.
So this morning when he sits in his new office what does he have to do? A lot of the traditional things a new manager has on their plate is not applicable so what do we think are his / should be his day 1 priorities.?

He should focus on the next 15 (or hopefully 18) games and leave retainment/recruitment to the summer. Obviously scouting is still important but I hope those systems are still in place.
He needs to ensure our key players are at their best for the run in.

Fix his backroom staff, Set some ground rules, call me boss etc, prep for Saturday, only so much you can do in a day. Contract extensions need to be earned. Josh asap, others can wait.
First job is to hire some coaching and backroom staff surely?
Then I'd imagine team meetings and individual player meetings where he can set out his philosophy and expectations.
It's a hugely exciting time for Matt Bloomfield to really make a name for himself at a club he loves, which loves him, and which will give him a chance to succeed.
Tricky task for him in the sense that he'll want to keep much of what Gaz and Dobbo brought.; we know it works and the players respond to it but he'll also want to put his own stamp on the team and the club. There's only one Gareth Ainsworth after all.
But he'll be doing it with the full backing of the fans. To be honest, if he were able to come in now and steady the ship and see us over the line to the play offs and beyond it would be something out of a fairytale. But it'll be fun trying
Will probably want to find out if any of our players are fit too at some point and what he has to work with.

I reckon he will bring Richard Thomas his current assistant manager at Col U. He looks to be an experienced assistant and Bloomers brought him in a few months back.

One thing that has shone through this week is how well every individual has dealt with the situation. Therefore, I wouldn't be surprised if Gaz, Dobbo and Gaz will have handed everything they have on the squad, injuries and research into the Shrews and future opponents across to Blooms. This has got to be a great head start heading into the weekend compared to any other new manager.
I wouldn't be surprised if Gaz/Dobbo would be at the end of the phone occasionally as well (if Blooms wants them to be)
Fix the bogs and order plenty of complimentary chips for the match on 4th March

Very interesting point you make about respect. He would have been on the "banter" side of things for so long, so will have to whip up some immediate respect.
But in all seriousness, if MB has an "in tray", the first thing he needs to do is set up an email account.
In this respect I think it helps more than we might expect that he has been away, even if for only 5 months, and comes back having been a manager elsewhere.
For sure he won't be making the "mistake" GA made in his first season where he tried to remain part of the group rather than become "The Gaffer".
Fortunately he doesn't have to really change what's happening on the pitch - although he did allude to making his mark, as you would expect.
We certainly don't need a revolution and arguably any evolution in style can be at a pace which doesn't disrupt our current form.
I've every confidence in both MB and his team and the players in making this a fairly smooth transition. Although, as every player knows, a new manager almost always bring changes.

Exactly. I’m not worried about this. Had we gone player/coach as we did with Gaz (who worked through it) it would have been a question. This is different. And thanks to Gaz and Dobbo we have an entire squad of smart professionals who will have no problem recognising the Blooms is now the Gaffer. We’re well set here and I have a good feeling that this season still ends in the playoffs or beyond.
Arguably GA had a harder job with the squad than MB. We had a couple of disruptive elements in the squad that GA took over and hand on heart I can see a similar personality in the current bunch.
I think he also had a lot of respect from his team mates so just needs to get this balance right when shouty time comes around, which it will. The tough part for Matt will be May when it is time to say goodbye to some of his friends when the contracts need renewing or not. The system of generals (although less visible than in the past) serves our club well in terms of continuity.
