Can't believe how nervous some of our fans get, it's not as if Klopp and Pep get a sniff of a player having 6 good games in L1 and get the chequebooks out.
We'd have no financial issues if we sold everyone who ever had a good game.
You act as if my nerves are unfounded. Have you watched Rosenior’s interview? It would be an incredibly bizarre interview if Cartwright only plays Berks and Bucks.
Hull have just signed Karl Darlow from Newcastle, meaning Cartwright is way down their pecking order.
Having him come to Wycombe on loan means he'll at least be competing for the shirt (with Max).
I don't think there is anything sinister in his arrival. Merely he's proper cover for Max, rather than us having to rely on Dickinson IF Max were to get injured.
Haven't caught it but their official site saying "The young custodian will be hoping to gain more first-team exposure" isn't exactly a pledge that he's here to oust Max.
A few months ago we probably would have been delighted and relieved to have him here at all, if he's Max's ready made replacement somehow as recommended by Big Bad Bazz and we've scored a huge fee as well then I'd be surprised but intrigued.
"The 20-year-old arrives to provide further competition and cover for Max Stryjek, having spent the first half of the current campaign on loan at Peterborough United."
Maybe not Strongest but listen to their managers interview on our Twitter feed and he emphasizes he “needs to play games”
I can see the benefit for us in having strong backup on the bench but don’t see the benefit for the lad or Hull. Surely he would be better starting for Maidenhead than watching us from the bench.
I would be surprised to see Max in goal for the next game.
Maybe Gareth has decided that to get our strikers scoring more goals it would help to have a goalkeeper able to distribute better? I know the vast majority of you on here think that Strjeck walks on water because he can command an area and can punch a ball, but as Alan Parry likes to constantly remind us, maybe the manager knows more than us?
"Yeah I was out at Barcelona last week as they wanted someone to cover for ter Stegen. But they realised I was so good that they'd have to let him go and that would cost a fortune. So they told me to go to Wycombe for 6 months and they'd buy me in the Summer"

If we’re signing players in positions we don’t necessarily need can I be hopeful we’ll sign some players in positions were a bit light?

Calm down everyone.

Hopefully a significant improvement on Dickinson. We've got lucky so far.
We were extremely light in goal
I think so too, but if you were told you can sign two players this window, I’m not sure one of them would have been a keeper.
Keeper and centre-forward the priorities imo
Keeper ??? really
WWFC website says the following, so we are good:
"The 20-year-old arrives to provide further competition and cover for Max Stryjek, having spent the first half of the current campaign on loan at Peterborough United."

If (and I admit it’s a big if) we can keep them all fit we’re fine at CB aren’t we? Especially with Grimmer fitting in so we‘ll there.
I’m much more concerned that our front two have four goals between them!

Absolutely we needed this cover. Just imagine having Dickinson back in goal for a play-off challenging run-in. 🤦
Goals conceded by Max, last 10 league games:
0, 1, 0, 0, 0, 1, 1, 0, 1, 0.
Oh, but he sometimes doesn't have a laser guide on his kicks. Get rid.
Can you post a link to the interview? All I can see using the earlier link above is some clip from The Inbetweeners
Max is fantastic, and our best permanent keeper since Martin Taylor, i really cant fathom how anybody wouldn't see it that way.
I am 100% with you on that one @ChasHarps 👍👍👍. Max is an excellent keeper.
No chance he’s come here as anything but cover. Sometimes managers aren’t entirely truthful in interviews.
He’ll be at Wycombe because of the Barry Richardson link, because we are a good squad to be around to learn and develop character.

Does it ever get lonely up there?
The new GK will be here because, without him, if Max gets injured, we would instantly wave goodbye to the playoffs.
Sensible signing in my eyes.
It does, yet their manager reckons it'll be a great bit of experience of the rigours of being a pro.
And talks of how the games will benefit him!?
Yet surely he won't get anywhere near the pitch unless there's an injury? So it does seem bizarre.
And then there's the early season head scratcher that we started the season with a guy we now don't even trust to be a bench emergency option!
Has everyone just decided to airbrush Stockdale out of our history!?
What is the contract status of Cartwright at Hull? Is his contract up at the end of the season?
If so, could this just be seen as a 6 month trial with potentially a contract at the end of the season?
I believe that we'll get news of Tyla's loan move to a National League or North / South club very soon
Ignore my suggestion, the Hull's website says he signed a 'long-term deal in the summer'

Seems odd that our way of introducing a new signing is to mock their surname! Unless it's a running joke of course.
Freeman as back up to Mellor. Wow
