Just £106 for this jacket - which is literally this £55 jacket with a Wycombe badge on. Bargain!
Sutton Utd £69
Just don’t buy it? What’s with the faux outrage?
I don't think it's right that fans who do want to buy it are taken for mugs - is that ok with you?
It's becoming a bit of a theme, sadly.
They were selling iron on club badges the other day 🤔
Most clubs (although lower profile than Wycombe) on the O’Neills website seem to have this coat available with their badge for £58
Were they actually? 😂
For a bargain price of £51.
Are you taken for mugs? The only mug is someone that buys it and then complains about it.
I think if someone buys it not knowing that it's just a £55 jacket with a badge stuck on, then finds that out, they're entitled to feel that they've been had.
Pretty much all our merchandise is a rip off
Just get it bought
The one that always surprised me was rip off air pods they had on the site for a while. Associating ourselves with that kind of merch was pretty poor imho.
Lots of people make them tbh for iPhone or Android, but usually non-Apple (or any not made by a known tech brand, senheisser etc) are a fair bit cheaper.
If you can’t afford it, Don’t buy football merch.
Not my advice, Pete’s. Made me feel warm and fuzzy inside.
Sorry, I can't see the part where he justifies the scandalous mark-up?
Higher profits and turnover trumps any concerns of large mark ups. Apparently.
FWIW, by the way, I have no issue with the club making a profit on merch. I actively encourage it, profit isn’t a bad thing.
I do question the thought process on offering a £106 coat in the market when there are lots of (better imo) options at that price point.
you can only spend your money once, and my opinion is they have spent it on the wrong thing and/or offering it at way too high a price.
If you want genuinely involved, regularly attending, happy fans, and to be able to rely on them to come in all weather's and spend in all sorts of ways, and promote your club in the town and beyond you don't take the piss.
Needs to look up goodwill in the financial books if general decency is no longer enough.
Surely when they see that total sales are about 7 coats in a year, they'll realise.
They haven't realised about selling substandard food at sky high prices.
He was hinting at them buying these to order so not a major prob if nobody does and they buy no other things but no guarantee people will, phrasing and optics also v poor at moment.
Not only about wether people can afford it, I can afford it but won't pay 50% mug tax over and above what other teams fans are being charged.
Goodwill in accounts doesn’t actually mean good-will though.
Different situations. Bet they still sold plenty of those, especially at first, whereas there's not a chance in hell they're selling tonnes of these >£100.
Not quite, no, various meaning related to changes of sales not directly relatable to price changes but wider point is don't piss off your small and captive audience.
It seems to have been a long term issue with stock and merch.
No doubt it's not as easy as we envisage at times.
In the cold hard light of day, it would be interesting to write down all the changes this regime have brought in, and the success or failure of them.
Those days of having loads of exotic food vendors in the carpark, sorry "Chairboys Village", seem to have largely been replaced by one big BBQ set up in the corner.
And occasionally a fish and chips van.
Yeah, sure they used to buy lots of stuff in May that they then gave away cheap the next May, no doubt they've tried and boosted a number of areas but maybe the PR side has dropped in recent months.
Probably all a bit more palatable if they'd actually turned around annual losses.
