I had a season ticket in the Family Stand for a couple of years between 1997 and 1999 and recall that part of the Family Stand would be given over to away fans for larger followings (Stoke, Man City, Reading etc).
It was never enjoyable, although I don't remember any trouble as a consequence. I do recall a tanked up Stoke fan giving it the large in front of us in 1998.
Actually, having reflected on my earlier observation that I saw no issue with it I should add I had not considered those who were being turfed out of their season ticket seats to accommodate this. I can absolutely understand how this would anger people.
I was thinking more of the the principle of having away supporters in home stands.
The foods always been terrible so I don’t buy it and I can live with poor performances Alan Smith proved that but I’ve had this seat since the stand was built and being shunted around feels like something Winkleman would do at the franchise. No I’m not a happy bunny.
I’m still breathing so I will renew my ST but I feel like a customer at the moment.
Actions like this are where the ST subscription package could really come back to bite them. It's never been easier for people to instantly stop putting money into the club.
Again whilst the decision is very questionable the PR is undoubtably lousy
I take it and am happy to be told I am wrong that the season-ticket holders displaced by this decision or not going to be offered any upfront compensation of some form or other?
it could be in the form of a free guest ticket for a future game et cetera when you deliver bad news a lot of damage can be mitigated by a sweetener
The club made it quite clear pre-season that there would be no season tickets sold in K and L up top and A and B down below. I think there were only around half a dozen ST holders last season in block K. I do sympathise with ST holders in M or C though, and I can see why people are concerned about Ipswich fans in the family stand.
I don't know why I feel so aggrieved on @MorrisItal_'s behalf, but I do.
Quite frankly it doesn't matter if he's the only STH being moved, he shouldn't find out second hand via social media. There is absolutely no excuse for such poor communication, it's a PR disaster.
If the football club really cares about the fans and the match day experience they'd do well to ensure every fans is valued - which at the moment they don't seem to.
I echo that. To communicate this way is very poor. And to piss off season ticket holders when you may need their vote in two days is current Tory party levels of strategic bumbling.
I was genuinely exited when Rob invested however with all that is happening and especially this disgraceful decision by him to sit away fans in the FA stand , I will have my son with me and questioning whether to attend the match , all Rob cares about is bottom line not the fans; feel so disappointed by the direction he is brining the club
It is quite an astonishing approach displacing season ticket holders for away fans. Let alone dumping the away fans amongst families and the elderly. Even more bizarre that STH were not consulted.
However they have closed two further blocks with season ticket holders chucked out of their seats.
You will also not be able to access the Family Stand or Frank Adams from the left hand side of the ground.
All seats in the Family Stand would have sold out, so you have around 350-400 non season ticket holders who are now having to pay increased costs if they wish to sit anywhere else in the ground.
What a fucking shit show from the club.
I’d highly recommend a local game in the FA Trophy third round for those who decide to give AP a miss.

that's a good find @ReturnToSenda so at least there was some communication! It could've been better though!

There was, although they've still given two extra blocks away without any kind of communication.
I'm perfectly capable of coming up with total bollocks all by myself without needing any hallucinogens!
This a very good point too: what about the boxes at that end? https://twitter.com/SimonDa98273075/status/1589703570320162817

We are customers now.. not fans
And the quality and price of food has drastically deteriorated.
Were they? Only 'on the sly,' in the lower tier too I reckon.
Any word on the big party btw?
Same place as the brand new toilets everywhere
Anyone starting to wonder if Mr Couhig is in it for anything other than the money?

Yep K and L in the Frank Adams but I’m in M
Have the club really not emailed you, @MorrisItal_ that's terrible PR communication if so?
Leaving you to find out second hand via social media is appallingly bad.

I've just watched the Bracknell Town (non-league) v Ipswich Town (Lge 1) FA Cup game.
What was really worrying was that our style of play is closer to Bracknell than Ipswich.
Harsh on Bracknell

I'm very uneasy about having Ipswich fans the block next to our Family Stand. Why not give them the end of the main stand like we have previously?
I've always been a Couhig fan but this added to the fireworks embarrassment isn't doing himself any favours.
On another note we really need a drum back. The atmosphere this season at AP is honking

Ipswich are not exactly noted for their violent away fans - at Bracknell tonight there was no segregation at all.
You mean at Sandhurst which is over 8 miles from they’re Bracknell roots.
I expect we will see season ticket holders thrown out of their seats for the following home games.
Ipswich
Portsmouth
Oxford United
Sheffield Wednesday
Derby
They can fuck right off with the Oxford one
