Will be interesting how Ainsworth describes this rubbish. Perhaps he will say we can now concentrate on finishing in the middle of the table. Sorry but utter shambles. More disappointing because we have some decent players.
I don’t think that can be answered based entirely on results. The team has totally lost its fight and have gone from a team willing to lay down their bodies for the cause to a team regularly lying down and having their tummy tickled. The heart left the team in the summer and with the off field losses.
I think it's about our success rate rather than the style of football. We're clearly in a deep slump at present and IMHO won't recover until Scowen is fit again. Mental attitudes and loss of Generals all too much for this season sadly. We've done so well for so long and I'm sure we'll survive in L1 so lots to think about and be thankful for. COYB!
I think its both re the football. I agree with a lot of what you have said, particularly about the generals. Thinking is one thing, action is another. Ainsworth might need to have a bit of a clear out to freshen things up in Jan transfer window.
This defeat really hurts. It’s not the result, as that’s the magic of the cup. It’s the manner of the defeat. If you can’t gee up players for an FA Cup game, after a run of disappointing performances, then questions have to be asked. This was a strong team on paper and some of them should have gone out with a point to prove.
Not based on one performance, but I do think Gaz will have some big decisions to make in January as we don’t any wiggle room in the squad.
He'll have to try and find replacements for us to go forward, the legends we have lost didn't just happen to be here and be nice blokes they all came from somewhere with a common approach and belief set.
Work to do all round for those already here too, we've had much worse squads but at best now we are a bit disjointed but we've hit a patch where nothing is going for us, changes when they do come seem to make us worse.
He's earned the support he has many times over, we are after all looking at mid table L1 not bottom of L2 and we've had our fun higher up and earned from it but it obviously doesn't last forever. Decisions to be made with regards to style, budgets and recruitment as much as anything off the pitch in January and again in summer and lots of hard work needed everyday.

Of course. But you may not like the response. Such is life.
Totally incoherent by the sound of it.
THAT. WAS. FUCKING. DREADFUL
For sure - I just thought people might have some views on it, but hey ho!

Chin up lads, we can concentrate on the relegation battle now.

Some reflection and soul searching needed
I think an attendance of under 1800 home fans says a lot about the way we are playing at the moment. People will pay to watch good football.
Last 4 games (all at home): W0 D2 L2
No MOTM thread from me today. Could not see the game, and finding a "least worst" seems like a pointless exercise.
I must say I am looking forward to someone saying they still think we will win the cup (because negativity is bad).
It's OK folks we can concentrate on a run in the other 2 cups...oh wait a minute
Berks and Bucks anyone?
Dogs#it football is well and truly back.
Yours was a fair question, so yes, don’t get the thumbs down.
If he didn’t have the past seasons of over achieving behind him I’d say game over. But as he has, I’d say ok for now.
That said, I’m reaching my limits watching this turgid old guff and the growing feeling that something is not right with that team.
We have gone from being willing to run through a brick wall, to being unable to part silk curtains.
I think you should allow yourself a window of not posting for a while after a bad game after your last post

not much🤞
Where would be the fun in that?!
That's pretty much where I'm at. I don't think changing manager mid-season would make any material difference with things in their current state.
Poor game, and a pretty woeful 4 home game run.
Definitely gone a bit stale. Not quite like that season we ended up punting long to Hayes and Thompson but not a million miles off
I think we should give Ainsworth 2 more games. If no improvement get new man in to assess squad ready for Jan transfer window

I’m having a hard time comprehending how a team that strong has been rolled over at home to Walsall, 12th in L2.

You really don’t get it, do you ?
I don't think anyone ever said it was meant to be fun.
Just as well as that was pretty bleak today.
Miserable crowd, dead, literally dead terrace and even close to the best lineup not good at all.
I think we need to ditch this wing back stuff. Ours don't deliver.
All this said, score that pen and it probably turns our way.

I have some dark, and probably unpopular, thoughts about the transfer window that I haven’t shared yet. It’s going to be very interesting.
