Turns out I can't read properly and he's 'only' the first English teenager to start a UCL game as captain. But still: prodigious and he might win us the World Cup.
I like Rocky a lot, but I think Max is superb so far, and apart from the four games where we were without a true #1, Man United may have accidentally done us a favour.
I happened to turn on the conclusion of the Cardiff game the other night and had a wry smile as it all played out. The clumsy challenge by Rocky, the poor refereeing (the whistle blew for the penalty as the ball was being squared for Dack to score the equaliser), the statistic that Sky subsequently put up on the screen: "Ryan Allsop has saved 0 of 10 penalties in the Championship"... and the strangely inevitable penalty save at the end of all that. 3 or 4 minutes of surprisingly good entertainment!
It's peak gasroom to lament the loss of a player who was always viewed as the weak link, or at least an average part of the team when he was here just because he's saved a pen 2 years on. Ignoring that he gave the pen away!
It is a little along the lines of the ex player thread.
"Barnes Holmer scored 2 for Beaconsfield reserves at the weekend, were we too hasty" type comments.
Not like you @Malone to fail to spot a less than subtle piece of irony. I even wrote a swift addendum to make clear that it was the redoubtable Barnes Holmer I was referring to.
I think we wore red yesterday simply because we wanted to, but there's no hard and fast rule about what constitutes a clash. That's up to the ref to decide.

Ryan Allsop penalty save. Could have done with him sticking around....
Is he better than we currently have though?
And we'd have had to have him on the bench for the whole of last season.
So you can't really apply the hindsight in this case I don't think.
I'm not sure if he saved a single penalty for us during his time at AP, always looked so far away from the ball . Fair play to him!
Wimbledon (a). If I recall correctly, conceded the penalty then saved it, but I'm certain of the latter.
Two or three seasons ago.
Take your word for it, couldn’t see 65% of the pitch that day

I still laugh at their mishaps, though.
Really weak pen iirc, don't remember him getting near any others
A better kicker but probably nothing else

And I got a lot of stick when he was with us for saying that I thought he showed a lot of potential.
Barnes Holmer, I mean.
I'd probably keep that one to yourself.
If it’s a day for guilty secrets, I once wore a headband with ‘Super Trev’ penned on it in excitement to see Trevor Aylott.
I only wore it once.
I had a BFP couple of liner published welcoming Smith in!
Doh.

Do keep up.
Good to see Forest giving Cooper an extension to his contract
And they have just appointed Fillipo Giraldi who was Watford's Sporting Director. If I was Cooper I would carefully watch my back!
Did they think they were signing another new player?
Maybe he had them over a barrel.
Preston 3-2 up! A bit like dog years, that would be the equivalent of a 12-11 scoreline for any other team.
Cracking game at Wrexham they beat Barnet 7-4.
My mistake it was 7-5.
Kanu believe it what a game!
I guess white shorts don't clash with white shorts per Arsenal-Liverpool. It's only our blue with Oxford (which we could change anyway).

How on earth was that Gabriel handball not given as a pen? What even is handball anymore? 🤷
His arm surely wasn’t in a natural position.
