Absolutely not. This year has been a freak one weatherwise. I know I’m meteorology obsessed but I’ve been really worried about the drought situation. Seeing sprinklers going for lengthy periods at football grounds anywhere south of a line from Morecambe to Scarborough makes me very uneasy.
A few weeks ago, the residents of a village in Oxfordshire were without water for a couple of days and the thought of taps ceasing to function is terrifying.
Droughts/months on end with very little rain are unlikely to be sufficiently frequent (let’s hope) to justify the cost, at our level, of installing sprinklers at a training ground.
Ryan Tafazolli returned to the squad last weekend following an injury so he's available again for selection. Sam Vokes is edging closer to a comeback while Curtis Thompson, Brandon Hanlan, Sullay Kaikai, Tjay De Barr and D'Mani Mellor remain in the treatment room."
This is why the club were trying to recruit for a Training Groundsman as there are patches of their pitches that haven't been repaired properly and have caused injuries. I know that Kaikai's knee & ankle injury during pre-season was caused by him turning at speed and getting his foot caught in the turf. I wonder how many others have suffered for poor training pitch surfaces injuries?
It has a feel of October/November at best for most of them.
Hope come February we don’t have a feeling of déja vu in the sense that we’re about tenth in the table and we’re saying “if only x,y or z had been available before the New Year, we’d probably be in a playoff position now”. Or, similarly, “our form for the last seven or eight games has been automatic promotion form”, bringing back memories of the last few months of the Championship season.

Are you telling us that you don’t know what Dom’s illness was. I thought that was common knowledge.
Gavin Grant was the guy who we were told had flu. He was sentenced for a 2004 murder in 2010.
So what did Dom Gape have?
Chips
No-one knows. Too much information. But he recovered as swiftly as someone throwing a sickie.
The runs!
So it turns out the training ground doesn't have a sprinkler system. I'd have that top of the list of upgrades if I were them.
It was a cold wasn't it?
Flu can be fairly serious 😁
Never gonna happen lol

Taken from the match preview:

It's a bit of a nightmare to have 5 strikers out all at the same time. Injury update is welcome though.
I wonder if this means we may see Sam on the bench this weekend.
At last weeks match, Mellor had a protective boot on his left ankle all the way up to his knee.

I wish I could be a bit more transatlantic.
We usually have injured players taking part in warm ups pre getting back on the bench don't we? Hopefully see him out doing warm ups soon!
I've heard Vokes is another couple of weeks off
Might do us a favour if the Sheff Wed game gets moved for international call-ups, would open up a two-week gap
Having said that, looks like it would be down to us and I can only see us losing Anis and AAH
End of month then. Call me cynical.
Cue lots of posts calling me cynical.
I'm of the same mindset
which month ? probably November as GA trying to gain an advantage haha October will make or break our season
You're so cynical!
Sorry, had to be done 😝
I suppose this isn’t good enough for some people:

edging closer to a comeback could mean 3 months off.guess we will see
I remember when Fred Onyedinma was "edging closer to a comeback" for several months
I bought a new pair of trainers at the weekend- means I am edging closer to a comeback (in my mind anyhow).
As I understand it, this is the latest injury situation. Please feel to correct any information you believe is wrong..
