I don’t think I’ve seen anyone rip Tyla apart, but his approach has been questionable for quite a few goals.
The key bit - we shouldn’t be in this position.
It’s ludicrous to be three league games into a season with a goalkeeper that’s never played above the eighth tier before. We’re not a non-league club. We’re one of the (many) favourites for promotion to the second tier. We were in the second tier a few years back. We should have had the number 1 keeper situation sorted quickly. We shouldn’t have to be throwing a young lad into the deep end when it’s quite clear that our management don’t think Tyla’s up to the standard of being our number 1 yet.
How about this astonishing paragraph from @aloysius that goes from “I’m not blaming him”, through “A football team rots from its keeper’ all the way to blaming him for us finishing this season mid-table even though we’re three games in
I'm not blaming him for any of this, he's young, inexperienced and doing everything we can ask on him when called on in these difficult circumstances. But I think that old truism normally applied to politics - a fish rots from his head - applies here too. A football team rots from its keeper. Without a Stockdalesque figure to command, harry, control play and give confidence in the box, we can't expect to be anything more than a mid table team.
Gawd never had you down as a 'nobody can say nothing' @ReturnToSenda . I notice a few of the 'Ainsworth out' people who had to wind their necks in for a while are getting their second wind as well. Match day threads starting to be miserable borefests and we're only four games in.
With respect that comment comes over as somewhat hypocritical. You portray yourself as the fount of all knowledge football wise and seem to go apoplectic when any other poster questions your views such as responding with your favourite term of "bollocks".
McCarthy was a lot of fun on co-comms yesterday. Very honest too, starting off by admitting he is not a fan of the pre-match huddles. Very engaging, much like Freeman last season.
Freeman, McCarthy & Forino have all been very good on co-comms, I presume that @bluntphil & Matt Cecil have been giving them some media training or maybe they are just naturals.
As for the Tyla situation, I think everyone is entitled to an opinion provided it does not involve ad hominem attacks, sadly somehow many have descended to that level. The beauty of the gasroom to me has always been the ability we generally show of being able to disagree without resorting to terrace language & nastiness, as well as the wonderfully tangents we often take during threads.
First time messager on here, friend of mine suggested I join as I am an honest and big wanderers fan of 40 plus years .
Yesterday was a strange game , changed our style as we had no target man , player nice stuff, easy to do with exceptional players like Anis , GMac and Horgan , feel really sorry for AHH as he was not given a chance Yesterday even with no recognised number 9 ...
Tyler is doing well but just don't think he is a number one yet.....
Welcome aboard @Quartersman80. A big thumbs up from me. One caveat. I’m not sure GA is short of backing from Rob Couhig. He is on record on a regular basis referring to his appreciation of the backing he gets.
@Shev Absolutely agree that McCarthy was excellent on co-commentary yesterday, really surprisingly honest too. Seems like a minor toe injury and he’ll be back soon. Really impressed with what he said about Anis’ attitude as well (the best of any young player he’d ever seen, at all his clubs)
That was a really interesting statement indeed. @Quarterman - it was really encouraging to hear just how exceptional Mehmeti is in attitude as well as talent!
If we are playing who's a Guardians of the Gasroom, either Wanderers82 or @trevor will play the tree (Groot) as they keep saying the same thing over & over
Wow the gasroom is alive. This thread reminds me of the managers on the touch line at Stamford bridge yesterday. Maybe being the director of the gasroom @drcongo, you should issue a few yellow cards. 😂😂😂😂
The game is all about opinions and it’s always good to have a lively debate even if sometimes it’s a criticism of the management of our club. I’m sure it will all start again if we don’t sign at least a No 1 keeper by the start of tomorrow’s game.

Where have people slagged him off?

So one person. The one that historically finds the negative in everything.
gotcha.

Mate, you didn't simply question my views; you literally accused me of having "a personal issue" with Dickinson - which is unfounded bollocks.
Slagging off or objective analysis presented via a slightly strained analogy? And I'm still yet to find this abuse.

For me, Guardians of the Gasroom was by far the shittest of the Marvel films

I love GA he just needs more backing from Rob
Hello!!
Welcome @Quartersman80!!!
Ainsworth should be built a statue for what he has done for us. Not outside the stadium.....in the f**king dugout!!
Use still and yet together again and you’ll get a mouthful from me, Young Tom.

Spit on @Erroll_Sims. The voice of reason and one of my favourite posters.
Whoops! Heaven forfend. Please read spot for spit, if you haven’t already done so !
Why do you want to spit on him then !!!

If we’re doing a Guardians of the Gasroom film could I be the little badger thing

I’m guessing you haven’t seen many Marvel films….
Ah though I heartily agree with your conclusion @bookertease it was a great @eric_plant joke!
I think marvel films are great escapism and entertainment for 2or 3 hours now again, nothing wrong with that, probably the inner child in me.
Anyway, is everyone going to play nicely today ? Now it's a little bit cooler

I’ve issued myself a yellow card @Blue_since_1990
