Welcome to the club Josh, seems like this guy does have some good potential as Bournemouth had him on trial last season after his performances and scouting
Calling it now. Final game of the season, Blunkell with a pin point pass to Ward, who lays it off to Jasper, who picks out D’Mani, who heads home to seal the title.
Hugs all round in the crowd as Phil Alexander squeezes Mawson so tightly that his knee pops out.
Not sure the four summer signings so far , are really showing our intent this year as outlined when Gareth spoke to Phil a couple of weeks ago. Clearly they are good prospects but are they really adding to the quality of the first team squad to allow us going to the next step. Hopefully there is a Forino or Mehmeti amongst them.
Perhaps there is a couple of first team players to be announced soon. Bishop being one of them.
Anderson was the one that came with a bit of Man City hype wasn't he.
Then never got near it.
Such a hard role really, as there's so many options for bringing in keepers, as prem clubs seem to hoard 4 or 5 each, and only 1 is realistically going to be a regular.
GKs develop differently to other players anyway - largely because the physical changes are more key in that position - so they can sign as a great prospect then relatively quickly go off a cliff.
absolutely and kudos to them , however we cannot sign just reserve team players and expect to compete, Rob has fed us a yarn just so he could sell more season tickets, last time I fall for his lies #wellplayedrob
Yup, not that it should need repeating but in his most recent piece Gaz repeated his belief that as soon as the first teams are named on Saturday a whole load of players are going to find out how little pre-season sometimes counts with its multiple games on the same day and unlimited subs. When players don't make starting eleven's or benches or see they are actually going to be 3rd or 4th choice at best in their position they start to get nervous and fear they might not play at all, and chairmen and managers start to develope a better idea of who isn't needed and is taking up a squad place or wasting a wage. Long game, but this can be a sweet spot.
This is true @Alan_Party but, with the season starting on Saturday, there will still be 33 days to the deadline for us to be potentially a star player or two short of optimum strength for however many matches we are due to play in that time. Therefore I can see how some people may genuinely think (obviously excluding @Wanderers82 whose thought processes seem non-existent) that a marginally sub-optimum side might not get us off to the kind of flying start required to achieve the Chairman’s ambition. And, in the context of that thought process, a really good reasonably well established goalkeeper like Nathan Bishop is clearly key.

Meltdown incoming in 3...2...1...
Welcome to the club Josh.
Looking forward to seeing you play over the next few weeks.
Lol

no comment ...going down the cheap road ...thanks Rob
He has every chance of playing in the B&B, EFL Trophy and possibly the League Cup.
Sorry, I thought you were trying to wind up a certain poster!
We're going to need to work on your understanding of the phrase "no comment"
No idea why you lot keep biting at this obvious wind up account.
should of said "lost for words '. ...can't believe how un ambitious our signings have been so far.....maybe GA is not the pull we thought he was
Lost for words... But sadly found words?
Not the right words though, as usual. Used "of" where it should have been "have", and "un" as a distinct word instead of a prefix.

in a few seasons when we are in the conference
Your intolerance of "punching down" is heartwarming
Bless you @eric_plant, you're quite obsessed with me aren't you. So cute.

Can someone put together a list of the development keepers we've accumulated over the last 3 or 4 years?
It seems the position that's hardest to see a player breaking through in really.
Anderson
Dickinson (who then became no2, dislodging the guy who was actually signed as no2)
Blunkell
Would have to put Yates down as dev even though the dev squad didn't exist then
But I think that's it

imagine how proud the parents of these young guys must be when they find out their sons earned a contract at a league club . All the best Josh.

Oh thank goodness for that.
Just a timely reminder for our more impatient posters that the transfer window is open for another 38 days.
He was also a part of the England Under 17 squad that won the World Cup as well.

Cannot wait for Saturday whoever is playing.
