What a snip. To get a real idea of how genuinely prodigious Kim Casey was during his years (the ‘eighties) with “James O’Brien’s” Kidderminster Harriers (who paid £2500 to Leamington for him in July 1985) I recommend a fascinating feature dated 9 June 2020 about the deadly trio - Kim Casey, Paul ‘Ocker’ Davies and Mick Tuohy. I’ve tried to download it but, as usual, hadn’t a clue.
Thommo was the missing piece that completed O'Neill's best team. Up till that point we didn't have the creativity in midfield, no offence to Rhino or Stapes. Fabulous player, shame he didn't come a few years earlier.
MON's best team were a better footballing team in my view. GA's possibly more effective. I would personally rank the team we had in the Autumn of 1994 as possibly our best ever, notwithstanding that Guppy and Scott had left by then.
If you skip the old gag that MONs boys are in their 50s now, and set aside advances in fitness and tactics, I think MONs boys shade it for quality but Ainsworths snatch a late equaliser.
If you compare the Xmas 94 team who played Oxford against our Play Off losing team from last year I would go with this mix. The 2022 team win with 6 players, opposed to the 5 for the 1994 team. Based on how good they were in 94 and 22, not other era's.
Stockdale (Hyde)
Cousins (McCarthy)
Stewart (Crossley)
Taf (Evans)
JJ (Bell)
Brown (Obita)
Scowen (Ryan)
Carroll (Horgan)
Thompson (Gape)
Garner (McCleary)
Vokes (Regis)
Not sure I could split them as a team. I think it would be a 1-1 draw with Ainsworths boys nicking a 95th minute equaliser.
I count myself lucky to have seen both teams and managers.
Being Aylesbury born and bred (but brought up on WWFC) I struggle with the idea that there was any rivalry between us and Aylesbury United. We were always a much much bigger team than them apart from one(?) season when they managed to overachieve and were in the same league as us.
The day after we got relegated from the Gola lge, and we had to trounce over to Wexham Park, to see a dejected Wanderers team lose to Aylesbury in the B&B replay final.
There were more Ducks fans than Chairboys followers that day.
Probably the lowest point, I've had as a Wanderers fan.

Bishop has signed for Portsmouth.
Thankfully it's a Bishop overseeing a different area of the pitch. A striker apparently.

That's about how much I recall, he was treading water at Cheltenham at the time.
Wasn't he (Casey) one of those who didn't turn professional, so left? Earnt too much money selling insurance to be tempted so stayed semi-pro.
He may well have been. We'd signed Tim Langford by then as well hadn't we?

Bit harsh on Dave Carroll!
(I agree that Thompson elevated us to new levels though. My favourite ever player)
Agree DC was fantastic, but I'm thinking centrally.
MON's best team against Gaz's best team, who wins?

If everything was equal regarding training and fitness, I think the MON team would come out on top.

Scowen / Ryan is the closest decision there for me. I think I'd pick Ryan, could have been a premier league player with a bit more luck
In the Ainsworth best lads favour would be lots of them playing at a higher level with and without us. Silly comparison really.
Any news about Nathan Bishop?
All in hand and the club playing a cheeky game of how late can we confirm it to the fans.
Thanks, son

Slough Town was however a genuine rivalry

May I ask how you are in the know? I'm unsure if it's a joke or genuine.
Worse than the Met police debacle?
Imagine having JJ and Mickey Bell (ignoring the fact he's a Judas 🤬🤬🤬🤬) in their respective primes whilst at WWFC both fit in the same squad...
I suspect Bishop will sign for us on Tuesday or Wednesday next week.
Man U are due back from Australia on Monday.
so Bishop signs on Monday , lets see if he is as good as most of you lot think he is
PMSL if it proves you are incorrect as usual! 😂
Ainsworth has confirmed a new signing will be announced on Monday
Bishop or new CB ?
"I think there's definitely one coming in Monday"
He's got himself covered 😂
I hope it’s a teenage midfielder from Horsham
Think. Definitely. 😂 come on Gaz!
