Is that new news or just a bit more re-churn of the same rumours? Difficult to quote sources when trying to look in the know.
Agree it's almost certain though if nobody is denying and he isn't being linked elsewhere.
Sure there was a quote somewhere political that if you're just passing on whatever you've been handed without scrutiny or comment you aren't a journalist you are a photocopier
While this is a new source, I'm struggling to get excited about this until the Clubs have confirmed this. As it says, its only an agreement in principle, some things can happen between now and pen to paper in the footballing world.
what's so difficult to understand about my view ? don't understand why everyone is so exciting about a GK who.gpt nowhere near united team and only experience is league 2 ....only teams after him are us , Exeter and Cheltenham...that speaks volumes
Speaking for myself, I don't get the line 'the only teams after him are 'x, y and us', you could say that about so many players. Only we were after him, therefore he is rubbish as if the skill of a player is directly proportional to the amount of teams who are in for him and if we and a couple of teams that you don't rate are after him, he is therefore rubbish. Conversely, you salivate over the signings of other teams without apparent reference to this critereon of number of clubs eagerly competing for his signature and you then use those examples as evidence of our lack of ambition.
Another thing I don't get is why a player who isn't starting for Man Utd would automatically be a bad signing, you could presumably say that about Jamal Blackman who has also been consistently failing to hold down a first team spot for Man Utd, but again you fail to do so.
Then there is the insinuation that a player who has experience only at a lower level cannot be an exciting prospect at the next level up. You have no regard whatsoever for his performance during that season, nor do you acknowledge that it is unusual for a keeper of such a young age to have even that much experience.
Personally, I have not yet seen Bishop play, I wasn't paying much attention to League2 last season and not to Mansfield Town either, nor was I paying much attention to LA or Hudderfield, so I am reserving judgement on both Bishop's and Blackman's forthcoming campaigns but I am prepared to take the accounts of the various reports that I have seen on Bishop into account and the opinion of Ainsworth and his team into account as well.
Out of interest, how many other teams are competing for Jamal Blackman's loan? I would be interested to know.
Gavin Bazunu had made six professional appearances - in Ireland - before Rochdale took him on loan the season before last. Two seasons later and he could well be a Premier League number 1.
We took a punt on Blackman when we were a League Two club and he did very well for us, but we have to overlook that because apparently League Two experience doesn't count.
(it should be noted that Mansfield finished 7th in League Two and conceded 52 goals last year, whereas we finished 9th with Jamal Blackman between the sticks and we conceded 53 goals albeit with a defence consisting of players that other teams had failed to compete for, so probably not Blackman's fault by and large, but then Mansfield's defence was also populated by underwhelming players if we with to apply the same criterea to both sides of the argument).
Bishop is an exciting signing, but I can’t help feeling he will be a downgrade from Stockdale. Can’t be helped though - Stockdale was an exceptional player at this level.
Aaron Ramsdale, Dean Henderson, Robert Sánchez, Jordan Pickford, Kasper Schmeichel... All current PL number 1s who cut their teeth on loan in the lower leagues. It's how goalkeepers develop.
Not at all. I’m genuinely intrigued to know how anyone can be so consistently negative unless they post purely to get a reaction in which case I will ignore them.
Bit unfair to say we took a punt. He was very well regarded at Chelsea and very well remunerated. I think he also came with coaching support if my memory serves. And a very blingging car.
I'm sorry, but could you put some effort into typing an intelligible sentence so that others may debate you? Currently it's hard to tell what you're trying to say.
Comments
Cue comment from you-know- who that he’s a Manchester United cast off who is too young and untested at League 1 level.

FI are extremely reliable - called Grimmer, Taf and Vokes - not sure why they don't have a blue tick, but they're on NewsNow
not sure if just me but massively underwhelmed by this potential signing .. had 1 season in league 2
All in favour of nicknaming him Harold?
As expected, @Wanderers82 jumps straight in to bash the Bishop

I wonder what it would take for IQ82 to actually be whelmed.
proven experienced GK would get me excited, Blackman would be amazing
Haha ! You didn't disapoint !
Genuine question: do you post this way because you enjoy getting a reaction or do you actually believe the things you write?

20 years on the gasrooms and you still struggle to identify the posters that aren't worth a second of time, don't you 😀
your pathetic, not every has to agree with your opinion, you would be terrible on a debating team !
And yet Blackman was even less experienced than Bishop is when we signed him on loan. You really are full of shit, aren't you.
I would pay good money to see IQ82 on a debating team, contradicting himself with every sentence and losing to a nursery school team.

your incapable of debating as your so narrow minded , you would suit being Bo Jo's cronie
we took a punt on Blackman which massively pad off however we are a very different team , apparently going for automatic promotion....

there is 1 that works out from the 100s that try...exception not the norm
I was so excited last season, this seasons squad has gone backwards........for now

Anyone who watched Nathan Bishop at Mansfield Town will know he was one of the standout performers of the season.
He will be an excellent signing, if and when confirmed.
It’s quite hot isn’t it?
your attitude is ...you think your always right...that's what happens when your old fart like you ....go and wash GA's car
