I wondered how long it would take. Poor old @trevor whinge about people not being allowed to disagree on here...but if they disagree with you it's bullying. What you post is always contentious gibberish designed to stir it up...so don't get on your tear-soaked high horse when people take the piss
As of today I would suggest the squad is about 14% weaker than it was last year. Most of that is the loss of Stockdale and I don’t think that anyone will argue that if we fail to get a replacement GK in we will definitely struggle a bit. But then I think most of us expect that we will.
The loss of Stewart is offset to some degree by the development of Forino, but we probably need another specialist Centre back, albeit I think that GA may have sufficient faith in Forino to go for the type of raw recruit to troll @Wanderers82 and @trevor.
Bayo is the other loss. I don’t think we will attempt to find a replacement though as I have the feeling that GA will work on a different way of playing to better use the wealth of forward-thinking players we already possess.
its certainly true that, at the moment, on paper, we are not stronger than we were at the end of last season, but with the exception of GK I would argue we are stronger than we were after the transfer window closed last September.
Here here. Like when posters make ridiculously childish comments about how sh1t we are, how sh1t each signing is, how sh1t the management are. It’s just childish.
As someone else said yesterday, I'd much rather us sign an exciting unknown young prospect, than someone who's known, but already has had 5 or 6 clubs ala Josh Parker etc
Chris Smalling went from the bottom of the seventh tier to Man United's first team in under two years. An extreme example perhaps, but there is talent and value to be found in non-League football.
We have a replacement for Stocko. The club would not release the 2nd choice goalkeeper without being confident of that - or having faith in Tyla Dickonson. FGS - relax!!!!
We’ve certainly signed a good few potentially exciting young prospects (albeit previously unknown to most of us on here). One player that we do know a bit about is Connor Parsons and I’ve a feeling he’s going to really make his mark next/this season.
He also came across quite Dean Morgan esque, lots of arm waving and negativity when things were not perfect, he also didn't do a lot of work off the ball and if I remember rightly could and probably should have been sent off for a couple of late challenges.
Not sure where this fascination with Parsons comes from. Scored one slick goal against Villa kids (before we got played off the park). What else has he done? Didn’t exactly set the Conference alight in his loan spell. Given the competition in his position(s) fringe player at best
nb: please bookmark this posts to humiliate me in January when he is setting the division on fire.
Also the player who was a tiny fraction off the current starting player is dismissed as not good enough for the league when that starting player leaves.
Not sure there is a fascination with Parsons is there? Apart from our good friend @micra who would happily see him starting alongside Nick Freeman 😉, I don't think anyone is expecting much from him at all this season other than to be loaned out to the Conference again!
Got to say I like the look of Parsons as well so @micra is not on his own. And if I remember rightly he scored a stunning goal whilst out on loan last season. Also a good run and cross to assist Horgan’s goal in the preseason friendly. There’s not many that can say they have assisted a Horgan goal either 😉. Agree this season is probably make or break for him though but I’m hopeful
I just can't get that image out of my mind of Parsons spitting out the chewing gum and leaving it on the pavement. I suppose all will be forgiven if he can produce the goods on the pitch, but for now, it's a "no for me".
Comments
typical from usual bullies on here no wonder our fanbase never grows .
Pedant alert...
Surely being 100% weaker means we have no strength at all, so does that mean we are relegation fodder and will lose every game?

i have no problem with people disagreeing its when its constant childish remarks .

Somehow I don't think we'll start the season without a goalkeeper...
What? Is Rush goalie not in the 2022/23 guidelines?
We may as well have done, when we had, Parkin and Cheesewright vying for the keepers Jersey.
Should have left the glove bag on the goal line, and played with 11 outfield.
If you are going to waste time responding to Trevor please don't include the quote it means my ignore is redundant. 😉
Jamie Young and Scott Shearer similar
@Malone 😁😁😁😁

Ah, the great Will We Sign A Goalkeeper angst of the summer of 2022. I can feel the nostalgia in advance...

Kion Etete would fit the out and out target man mould. Played in League 1 last season and played a significant role in that game at AP.
He would be perfect if we are looking for a back up to Vokes. He’s also U21.
He also came across quite Dean Morgan esque, lots of arm waving and negativity when things were not perfect, he also didn't do a lot of work off the ball and if I remember rightly could and probably should have been sent off for a couple of late challenges.
Not sure he'd pass the Wycombe recruitment panel!

Yep agreed. Has it all to do, to say the least.
"What else has he done?"
Did some keepy-uppies with a piece of spat out chewing gum then discarded it on the street?
It's a Gasroom tradition isn't it? The player that cannot get on the pitch is the saviour that Gareth cannot see!
('must have run over Ainsworth's cat...')

I saw that - was surprised that made it onto his channel

The David Seamans circa ‘96 pony tail is a “no from me”.
Are Derby aware of this too?
