How do you suggest we improve our team @Wanderers82 ? Suggest one thing that Rob Couhig and Gareth Ainsworth don't know about Wycombe and our budget/squad, that you do.
I like most fans want the following for my team (this is my order of importance...)
a) to still be around in 30 years plus (I'll be 92 if still alive so a long enough horizon for me)
b) to be financially stable, ideally without Trust members having to put any more funds in
c) to still be in the EFL
d) to have the best squad we can afford in line with b above
e) to win more than we lose (most seasons)
f) to gain promotion to the Championship
Since Torquay I have had faith that Gareth & Dobbo will achieve c, d & e; since the Couhigs arrived I am starting to believe in the achievability of a, b & f.
@Wanderers82 It's "you're" - the apostrophe is there to indicate the missing letter as it's a conjunction of "you are", whereas the "your" that you used indicates a possessive, so your sentence is saying something about my brave, and something about my boring. I've no idea what about my brave or my boring though, as the rest of the "sentence" was also gibberish.
Maybe this sentence could help you remember which way around it is: "You're illiterate because your mum dropped you on your head."
Could we possibly, just possibly, be witnessing here the baby steps/green shoots/gradual germination of a mastery of wit to rival the likes of Oscar Wilde ?
I have no problem with @Wanderers82 saying what he/she/they say but the way he/she they say it I do find a little ‘trolling’ for my personal tastes.
For those of you sensible enough to have him/her/them on ignore (but bizarrely not myself) he/she/they does express their comments (I’ll sum up as “we’re an unambitios load of fools who are destined to fail”) with (as it appears to me) an element of glee typically used by trolls in the weird and wonderless world of Twitter.
Give me the genuine moroseness of the likes of @trevor any day.
I also have at the back of my mind that we should always be respectful of people, including the likes of @Wanderers82.
i personally adopt a position of imagining that we live in America. When he/she/they finally tip over the edge and go out and shoot several people, I ask “is my conscience clear that my dealings with him/her/they contributed only at an imperceptible level to his/her/their inevitable breakdown.”
Not quite sure what more business people are expecting us to do? We need a new keeper of course, other than that it's really just a new CB we need and that can wait. I've no problem with us starting with Forino and Taff as our back 2. Wouldn't think we need anything else for the 1st team. We need more development players of course, but that's what the pre season matches are for.
we need a starter GK, CB, Striker (we cannot express forino and Taff to gpt injury free plus vokes can't play 46 games, if rob is expecting us for. autos then put your money where your mouth is ...not signing unproven players with no league experience....always go for the cheap options
I suppose it depends on what our ambitions for the season are. At the current time the squad appears a little weaker than last season after losing our first choice GK, one of our three senior CBs and our back up CF, none of whom have currently been replaced.
I expect League One to be very challenging again this season, and we sneaked into the play offs last season. Jacobson is not getting younger, and McClearey isn't either. I'm not sure, other than Forino, whether we have many players who are likely to be better this coming season than they were last season.
We have a limited budget, and we have punched well above our weight for several years - including for two years pre-takeover. Will that run really survive another year?
It's a given we need a new keeper. We also need a CB, though not necessarily for the start of the season.
Once we have those in place, I don't see us as being any weaker than last season. Worth keeping in mind that we were without Thompson, Mehmeti and Hanlan in the last month or 2 of the season (Thompson for longer) and we still accumulated 83 points. It's still a very strong squad we have.

@Wanderers82 lives in his own world and that's where it is best to leave him.

Anyway, back to the topic…who is on triallist watch tonight??
Nick Freeman
I hope you repeat that sentence next May as it means we will have had a good season
Gasman is there https://twitter.com/GasmanCOTN/status/1545469722992541697?t=UVNUFuR4eiv7fFj4cFvKcQ&s=19
I agree, @bookertease - kindness is a powerful thing. Feeling like an outsider can become a self-fulling cycle.
You're
how about...you are a sad knob....more fitting
Luton and Northampton doing some serious good transfer business

It's a constant game is squad improvement.
Players come onto your radar you couldn't get before, or weren't available etc.
I'm sure if the right player of this nature comes available, we'll be straight in.
In the meantime, with no doubt at all, we need a keeper and a centre back.
We can argue about whether that centre back is to start, to compete with Forino or is backup, but without any doubt we need a specialist there.

We didn't punch above our weight last season - that squad finished where it 'should' have

I actually think we missed a golden chance to finish top two
Fully expect us to mount a similar challenge this time around
