I think it is one thing to leave the edges of a playoff fight for a club you played for back in the day, like GA did for QPR. But to leave a club you played 558 times for and are leading the league and finally playing the way you want them to, to start all over again on a short leash in a relegation fight, is not as attractive.
I am realistic about it - if Coventry are paying enough, they have a great squad and Blooms would go directly into the Champo orbit and raise his profile, so I would not be astounded if he went. But deep down I feel as though it would say a lot about a lack of assurances from our new ownership if he did.
At least we would not be that embarrassing fanbase who say "no loyalty in football" when their manager leaves, seeing as most of us wanted his sacked less than a year ago.
I'm sure there would be plenty of our fans who say 'wow we showed him loyalty last year when he was naff and then he jumps ship at the first offer? judas!!!!'. You know what the Facebook group can be like!

As far as Ainsworth, I think the bigger picture is that there is no way this analytics-based ownership would have him back. If Blooms leaves, we will get the Portuguese or Icelandic second division manager we have never heard of.
Hi @micra. I think MB mentioned in a few interviews that he and his family moved back to Suffolk after he made a promise to do so several years earlier, timing it with his children starting school. As always, this is based on my rather questionable memory.

He'd probably leave for a major prem club to whop his salary up by 10 to 20 if we're honest.

Absolutely - plenty of reasons he would go. I'd argue there are more reasons for him to stay than there were for GA when he left though.

I just hope he would think to himself would he want to work for employers who sack Mark Robins after all he has done for Coventry in the last 7 years

Having travelled from Suffolk for over 20 years, any option not involving him kipping at Marlow Road overnight might sound appealing.
He lived in Reading or surrounding area for at least 12 of those.
