  • Signed, good luck.

Do you know how many signatures are required before an inquiry is triggered, or is it not that straight forward?

  • Below is an extract from a report on RDG.TODAY I can't find any mention of the numbers required anywhere in other reports either.. It seems as though the petition is aimed at the Culture Secretary/Committee to set up an inquiry, rather than a full debate in the House. So it is a case of "the more the merrier". I would like to point out that Ms. Yang is the recently elected Member of Parliament in which the SCL/Mad Stad is located, who is doing all she can to help us. I've known it as the Mad Stad since it was built, very appropriate these days.

We are calling for the Culture, Media and Sport Select Committee and the Business and Trade Select Committee to launch an inquiry into the ownership and governance affairs of Reading Football Club since 29 May 2012 on grounds of public interest, with a particular focus on the governance of Reading Football Club since May 2017.

Ms. Yang has been working in Parliament to apply pressure to the current ownership, securing a debate on sustainable football club ownership which will take place at the start of March; she also met Sports Minister Stephanie Peacock and pressed her to ensure that the Football Governance Bill and the Independent Football Regulator will have the powers needed to force irresponsible owners to sell when necessary.

  • Odd maybe that is a petition on the local MPs website rather than one of the official government sites where they are compelled to at least answer the question.

Also as a government MP who is she trying to convince? surely she could ask the relevant department to investigate herself. Hope it's not just trying to get a bit of local publicity for her own sake but it does look like it.

Any word on when Robs case is heard?

  • As she has been active in our cause since being elected, I don't think this a publicity for herself. Maybe it is a case of showing how many supporters of our and other clubs are wanting something to be done about rogue owners of clubs throughout the country, when she approaches the secretary/committee.

As for Rob's case I doubt if anyone knows when his case is heard. Dai is counter suing Rob now so it could take years to get to get to court for all I know Link to the latest I have heard below.

I’ve cheated. I’ve skipped two pages to get here, thinking that there surely can’t be anything new or unmissable since the end of last month. Am I right or have there been some substantial developments?

  • Only those in my last two posts above. If you had asked if we are any nearer to a solution, my shortest answer would had been..... No,
