The Gasroom will be a quiet place for a couple of days while we all look back to see who thumbed down our amazing breakdown of certain Wycombe matches.
Personally, I'll just be looking to see who thumbed down whenever I said Nick Freeman should play more. You are already dead to me, whoever you are.
Vincent-Young shows excellent close control, another level above many who have worn the quarters. But I agree, that skill is more useful going forward than defending.
Sorry, StrongestTeam2, TeamStrongest, StreamTrong, Tromsedt and WeIsWickamInnit are all on holiday. I've been told they all thoroughly agree all of our retained players and signings are rubbish though and the way to gel quicker is to bin em all off and get another set, but also we shouldn't spend any money. Blooms must stay and go and above all we need Big Kev back on co-comms at the weekend, from his mum's basement, whilst on Football Manager.
For me, based on the matches so far these players must start every game:
Stryjek
Low
Boyes
Scowen
Leahy
Taylor
Vokes
Some other good performers, so that's not to knock the likes of Grimmer, GMac, KVH, Potts, etc., but these are the essentials for me right now (cue half of them being out of the team tomorrow!)
I'm not sure Grimmer was out of position, he had gone with the centre forward who went short for the ball. I would expect him to track that run and would be disappointed if he didn't.
Orient then used the decoy runner to expose the gap that would leave in a back 3 brilliantly. KVJ, in theory, should then have slotted into the gap that was left but he was too high up the pitch. Orient were very astute and the second stage of the attack meant Low and Tafazolli got drawn across, leaving a huge amount of space at the back post for their right winger to score.
Unfortunately, until we get used to this system and how to counter attack this type of move and ball into the channel we are going to get found wanting again and again.
I'm pretty certain this would not have happened in a back four. Even if Grimmer had gone out as RCB, the right back would have been in place to cut out the ball over the top OR would have delayed play long enough to allow a center mid in to cover the front post, so left sided defenders didn't get drawn across.
We have seen time and again, with JJ at left back, that he would have covered the space at the back post and got a decent challenge in.
I'm interested to see if we can work out how to cover the space across the defensive line, in a back three. If they can work this out, then fair enough. However, what I am seeing so far this season is a complete lack of understanding of how we cover the spaces in a back three. After almost every attack by the oppo this year, the 3 at the back have been gesticulating to each other to try and work out who goes where. Until this becomes second nature we will continue to struggle.
If we don't get this right over the next two or three games, I think we will need to revert to a back four. We cannot keep going on being so open and ragged at the back.

Must remember to come back here when I enable the show thumbers setting.
Don't worry about it. Someone even thumbs down my match predictions. It's hard being a Spart.
Reading deducted one point for late payments. We move up to 16th.
Gave you a thumbs up. Because you're worth it.
Give some of us time to find an alibi for our thumbing policy first eh 🤣
Ps love that there's one "angry bald fella" in a stand and people nod knowingly.
At many clubs that wouldn't come close to narrowing it down!
I’m new to show thumbing, what do I need to do in order to prepare?

I think I've put in a few of those 🤣
I think I've only ever thumbed up you @Shev
I suspected as much. You are not really dead to me, so you can rest easy. 😉
If ever a post is going to get the oh matron klaxon on overdrive.
Phew.
Only 98% of them were me anyway, there's other culprits!
That's nice to know! I attribute it to my similarity to the proverbial stopped clock.
We should disable the downwards thumb for @Wendoverman.
Anyone who does clearly has difficulty with the concept of tasteful and (sometimes) subtle humour.
It's when he strays into serious posts he quickly comes a cropper 🤣

I thought it was well known that any mention of thumbs gets a thumbs down.
(Taking bollocks or being a gobshite should get you two thumbs down really)
Let's see if that can get record numbers.
Can I sue people who don't thumbs down?
You need your sockpuppet account to threaten to sue you

You could also mention that Adams Park was a mosque for 30 minutes last April and see the thumbs down go Kamikaze on you.
Jim_Il_Swan (no relation) will avenge my blood.
Think I'll dodge that grenade, thanks and good night
My 11 for Burton, if all healthy:
Stryjek
Grimmer
Low
Forino
KVH
Boyes
Scowen
Leahy
Potts
Vokes
Taylor
I can take it on the chin for my facetiousness instead of proper argument @bookertease but down voting a 2-1 prediction seems extreme! 😉

You realise at least one of those players will now miss the next game ...
If we haven't already sold him, and he can walk I'd and Big Chris to that list
