Hahaha I admire your obsession with this. I’m not some McCarthy fanboy. I think he’s operating at the level of a bottom 6 League 1 wing back. My comments on him were based on his leadership qualities & starting the opening game was because I think the new signings need time to settle into the group. I would hope McCarthy isn’t regularly starting games any more by mid-October.
If Forino is fit, I'm inclined to agree with this - although surely Grimmer RCB and Keogh CB?
If he's not, possibly Leahy to slot in at LCB (I'd worry about JJ vs some of the page Exeter have in attack) - although I don't know who would then go into midfield, where we're still one short.
I will have a go at the scoreline and even chance my arm at the crowd numbers...but there is a very good reason why I am not a football manager, so I would not dream of predicting the team!
Having seen the 15 minute highlights, Dale Taylor looks like he is going to be an absolute handful. It should be a fun goalscoring race between he and Vokes this season.

Thanks for taking the time to provide the lengthy explanation @frequentstander (!)
The team we could have been starting ...
Bishop
Freeman
Willis
Mawson
Obita
Gape
Thompson
Wing
Mehmeti
Horgan
AAH2
Ah Mawson.
"That" feeling when the news broke he'd absolutely impossibly come back to us.
And that dread the first time he missed a league game, and it turning out to be rightful dread and all over.
Still wouldn't have changed that time though.
Better to have loved and lost etc
Ironically that's my Tinder profile
Used to be this but got nowhere
We look to be defensively strong, so expect a lot of one nil wins, at least in the early part of the season. (here’s hoping)
whoever starts Saturday, expect a fair degree of squad rotation for the game against franchise on the Tuesday
Max
KVY
Boyes
Keogh
Grimmer
CF-J
Potts
Leahy
Brekin
GMac
Taylor
I'm assuming None of Taff, Scowen and Vokes will be fit enough to start.

I’m sure you’re right, although TBH I’ve got no idea about RCB, CB and LCB. Just go out there and have fun I reckon!

I think Grimmer would captain that XI though.
Hopefully, he will get a hatful against Derby home and away to please his parent club!😉
Actual starting 11 prediction ...
Strejek
KVY
Grimmer
Keogh
Forino
Boyes
McCleary
Potts
Leahy
Taylor
Hanlan
Hanlan in a front two with a 'handful' alongside him could be very fun. But probably better playing off Vokes than Taylor imo.
