A 4th bid is absolutely fine, but if you want someone so desperately that you make 4 bids, and call it the final one, then you need to increase the offer substantially to make it attractive
Taking out the individuals involved, I never thought I would see Wycombe being supposedly treated with disrespect and indignity because someone offered us 7 million pounds for a player!
As for Kone, it's only good taste to want him. He is absurdly good!
It's misleading to call it a £7m bid. It's £4m with add ons. Who knows what the add ons are? Appearances, goals, international call ups, if we avoid relegation, etc.
I’m not naive and know that every player has his price, but Dan Rice made a significant comment when discussing the return of Caleb Taylor: ‘We remain fully committed to keeping this squad as strong as it could possibly be.’ A hint that Kone won’t be going anywhere in this window? We shall wait and see.
I think for £7m the club will be seriously thinking about taking that. I expect they’ll want to push for more upfront and a substantial sell on % though. We’ll need to work very quickly to get a replacement.
It's not £7m. It's £4m with conditional extras that may go up to £7m. It's hardly anymore than the last offer which was rejected. I'd expect this to be turned down too - we could make even more money off him in the Summer.
Do we actually think that MB is making these offers? Is it not Mick Harford? MB has prob given him / Luton a transfer wish list but I don't think he'd be making the actual call
That offer suggests a level of desperation from Luton who I suspect have put all of their eggs in the Kone basket.
For Wycombe - it’s clearly not just a case of being £7m richer (and actually £4m as has been noted), but also how much this would derail our promotion push and therefore negatively impact our financials in the long term.
Promotion is worth more than the possible £7m we’d get for Kone, so I can’t really see a world where we accept that offer (unless of course we’ve been spending the Kone money during Jan, but again I can’t see that as we’d have made an effort to replace him).
Ultimately I don’t take this personally with Matt - football is a business and his loyalties ended with us when he moved on. It’s also highly unlikely he’s the one making the calls to Dan (although I’d love to be a fly on the wall if he was).

Yes i think he would
Gaz loved a former player, but I'm minded to agree - I don't think he'd have done this.
OMG it’s starting again.

If i owned Wycombe Wanderers we'd be making a derisory bid for every single Luton player.
give us 6m plus adebayo...we cannot lose Kone with no replacement
I can’t think of anyone we would want out of their squad.
Just for fun.
Ok 👍

*sorry if they avoid relegation, doh!

I don’t think they will be.
He'll go for £10m up front in the summer if he continues on his current trajectory. We've reportedly already told Luton to get stuffed anyway.

Luton to win the Champions League!
Luton to win prettiest town in England award.
They've got a long way to go
Windsor in 2nd - amazing.
emperor Penguins have some orange on them.
zebra crossings have that orange flashy lights.
Everton mints, with a quick google, have packaging colours that include grey, cyan and even yellow depending on the packaging.
So sometimes, you have to step back and look at the whole picture.
also, I need to get out more.

When is this list from? I don't see High Wycombe anywhere.
Luton are reported to have agreed a deal of £1.5M for Alli from Exeter so maybe they have got the message at long last.
I am genuinely not the slightest bit worried about Kone, especially after the comments from he and Sam Grace after Barnsley.
If you want one including Wycombe here it is
Lol, my brother lives in Henley and has called it "a bit rah"
Henley on Thames in 13th - what a joke.
