If anyone thinks we should go back to 3 at the back, with Grimmer and JJ as wide CBs, please go back and watch the highlights of the 5-5 Cheltenham fiasco.
I don't think we should return to 3atb - but I think we will, based on pre-season and what I've been told (on reflection, I reckon Forino over Grimmer at RCB, but JJ has transitioned superbly to LCB).
Reverse Forino and Tafazolli. Reverse Gape and Scowen (natural positions). Play McCleary in front of Obita because they’ve got that telepathic understanding borne of years together here and with Reading. And McCleary’s inswinging corners from the left are usually spot on.
In the event that Nathan Bishop or someone of similar ilk doesn’t materialise, I think we could be reasonably confident that Tyla Dickinson would fit the bill but I think Josh Blunkell has real star potential.
Just the stuff on line about him especially the piece on WanderersTV. To have played against Col U for AFC Sudbury at 18 is some sort of indication of how highly he is rated and his physical appearance is pretty impressive for a lad who’s just turned 19. All a hunch at this stage of course.

I’m just going to shock you here. Matt Bloomfield may also have dived to win a penalty. More than once!

If I were picking the team with everyone fit, I'd go...
(Bishop)
Grimmer, Forino, Taf, Obita
Wing, Scowen
McCleary, Horgan, Mehmeti
Vokes
My starting 11 would be:
Dickinson (Even if Bishop signs in the next few days - Play the keeper that has been with the squad the longest and is used to the tactics)
Grimmer Taf Forino Obita
Scowen Gape
McCleary Mehmeti Halan
Vokes

From the bench, earlier than we normally make subs: Hanlan, Mehmeti and Wing, maybe Al-Hamadi or Mellor too
Is Kaikai fit? In the GA interview he says everyone bar Thompson is training this week, but also someone said Kaikai was injured v Oxford(?)?
Thompson and Kaikai won’t start and almost certainly won’t be on the bench. Jack Young will be.
Mine would be
Bishop (fingers crossed, I assume the lack of other press noise about a keeper for us, means that he is finally signing)
Grimmer, Taff, Forino, Obita
Gape, Scowen
McCleary, Wing, Mehmeti
Vokes
It was me @Twizz He injuried himself during the Oxford friendly. Twisted knee - out for another 1-3 weeks
Bishop/Dickinson
Taf Forino JJ
Grimmer Scowen Obita
Hanlan Mehmeti McCleary
Vokes
Bielsa's Chile vibes with the 3-3-3-1
Sorry good sir, you are correct. I tip my hat to thee
I was being very picky, I’m afraid. Sorry.😟
Bishop
Forino
Taffs
JJ
Freeman
Obita
Scowen
Wing
Mehmeti
GMac
Vokes
