If there's any team that's going to outscore everyone, it's Peterborough. Jonson Clarke-Harris and Jack Marriott, both former L1 Golden Boot winners - if the latter stays fit then OOF. Unfortunately, I think they're going to go straight back up.
@Malone I am a 100% WWFC fan through and through. Have been going to games since I was a junior and used to work at the club (I can't say what I did) hence why I know what I'm talking about. There are other things that (used to) happen behind the scenes that most with be thinking "What the Fudge!" but sometimes it the official line from the club is that "He's got a knock" or "He's being rested" etc etc but it happens. This club has never stood in front of those that either don't want to be here OR who have been given an opportunity to progress their careers higher up in the league structure.
I agree with you @Malone that we will want top dollar for our players that show the maximum potential and I hate seeing those players leave BUT at the same time, want to see how far and high they can truly go and watch their progress.
Some of the incentives include the promise of a Pre-season friendly or a loan back or extra % on a sell-on clause or extra £'s in the deal or the team's offer of using their training facilities during an international break.
There are loads of mini agreements that have minimial costs to these clubs and has the potential to be a win-win for everyone
if this is true then we are a amateur run club with Rob leading us... dickinson as a starter with zero league minutes, stocko left weeks ago ....piss poor planning by the management team
@Wanderers82 The financial power of the Premier League can turn every L1 & L2 player's head. If they know that there is a possible trial on the table and a lower league club has turned it down, just think of the stink that they could make. Under performs, starts talking to team mates, has a negative effect on the team that then the club will have to sell him at a cheaper rate because they want him out.
It is often a tactic used when a lower league club wants much more than the big club is willing to pay.
Even the great Peter Shilton had to play his first game. He was only 16 when he turned out for Leicester. Imagine what @Wanderers82 would have called the then manager Matt Gillies.
I must admit I don't get all this got to have experience stuff, if they don't play how are they going to get experience ?? Everyone has to start somewhere. If they are good enough, they are old enough
It has been clear for a while that Bishop has been Plan A to replace Stockdale.
i would imagine that there is a Plan B but this close to the start of the season if Bishop doesn’t actually join us this week I would imagine that we may be happy to start with Dickinson.
If we trust a player to be on the bench we clearly trust them enough to start at least one game.
yep agreed , management team screwed up, never in a million years did they plan dickinson being number 1....GA needs to take ownership that its poorly planned , its so obvious that we need a CB and GK ....Rob is probably trying to save money and wait for a last minute cheapo deal
haha luckily in my day job I am accurate and attention to detail, this is a debate platform not a school you sado ....anyway go and kiss the floor GA and Rob walk on...

I believe you are right @Otter87 regarding players from lower leagues training with teams from higher leagues prior to them making an offer etc.
I just hope you are not right about Mehmeti.
School parking booked. The fun begins.
I don't what the stats show, but Peterborough always seem to be a team whose games are smothered in goals season in, season out.
absolutely incorrect? what is the gain for lower league teams ?!
If you’re not a little giddy the week before the season starts why do you even like football?
also, Sam Vokes.
Potential big money!
if its big money then they can just buy him , it's not a trial , if he gets injured we get screwed

Dickinson will play.
We haven't signed Bishop yet....
I suspect you're incorrect on both.
But let's see what happens.

Relax grouchy mcbastad.
There's more chance of you making a positive post than Dicko starting at the weekend.

@Wanderers82, I have defended your right to be different but what a miserable person you are. Brighten up, life is short.
Have you ever seen Dickinson play? If the answer is no, How can you criticise someone that you know nothing about??

Ignore

I'm sure Dickinson is able, but it's not a very good look to go into the opening game of the season without your no1 ready
No, but so? Bishop could sign be ready to play but trip over a cat or contract Covid and still not be available on Saturday.
it happens. Just more obvious with a GK

In fairness, I would laugh at 'Bishop (cat)' on the injury news
”GA needs to take ownership that its poorly planned , its so obvious that we need a CB and GK.”
What on earth does that even mean, is he supposed to come round your house and apologise to you?
he had no contingency plan ...no plan be on or off the pitch....before you say it...Dickinson is NOT plan b ....
You're.....vocab.....is....trooly....orful.
Back to skool yung sir.
