Tony Ashby was on the books of a London club, and played for our reserves. But no noteworthy career in the senior game. Which is somewhat surprising as he looked a very accomplished keeper at 15.
Kevin Keen was a year younger than the rest of the team, and represented the Under 15's the following year, they had a half decent run.
I remember going to Wembley and seeing Westy score a cracker against West Germany, interestingly Martin Lambert and Andy Robinson were also in the team.
Interesting to remember all the players. But following all the recent clues, I can now confidently state that I remember @PJS (not from school, though...)
I too was in that year at John Hampden. Remember Dave Lay, Kevin Keen in the year below I think. Definitely Bates was the other and fairly sure he was captain of that Wycombe schools team.

Just watched JCs free-kick thunder into the bottom corner against Runcorn in '93, followed by his lunatic run to the fans with eyes like Maradona. The stewards had to drag him off the fence before he climbed it. Oh for a bit of that on Saturday!

Yes, I remember Tony Ashby. Absolutely superb. Did he go on to become a professional footballer?

Was Mark Chisham also in that team?
Anyone who isn't streaking isn't wycombe

Hope it had streaks.
What about dreadlocking?

Of course - Dave Coggon
Very interesting @LeedsBlue - and not from school? I'm intrigued - Cricket perhaps?
looks like I need to try to identify @Mandown as well. Don't think Bates was at JHGS however.
