Nope. Don't really understand why you need two next door to each other though. Especially when there is a third (expensive) one about half a mile away. Although I think that was probably clear from my initial message.
There’s an Aldi about half a mile down the hill (?Desborough Avenue) from the Cressex industrial estate.
It’s the other side of town from Widmer End but mrs micra likes it and pops in now and again.
Me, I’m a died in the wool ASDA man and we now have weekly deliveries from that ‘cheap’ supermarket. I must have some lingering snobbish tendencies though as I choose delivery slots when there are fewer people passing by to and from the schools just up the road!

I thought that was Lidl? Same concept anyway and it's a very good one.

Lidl is a couple of hundred yards away. Apparently Aldi is the Waitrose to Lidl’s Asda!
Very true. Aldi's own Plant Menu brand has some of the absolute best vegan alternatives I've ever tried. Their plant based burgers are better than (the very expensive) Beyond Burgers in the US, I haven't had a beef burger since they introduced them.
From retirement in 1995 until about five years ago I used to go to the sports centre at Handy Cross every Monday for short tennis, volleyball and table tennis. After getting into trouble for peering into saucepans and generally getting in the way in the kitchen I was challenged to take over culinary duties and it made sense for me to nip across to Asda following the Monday sporting activity to stock up with food and drink for the following week. I always looked forward to it. Until the pandemic that had become my only exercise in recent years!
If Waitrose had been a couple of hundred yards from the sports centre in 1995 I might be healthier but even less wealthy now!

The relatively new Aldi (behind Halfords & B&Q) on the London Red and the new Lidl (at the bottom of Hatters Lane) are both decent places to shop. What they lack in variety is certainly made up for in price. I don't like the Lidl in town - always seems poor quality fruit and veg.
None are quite the superior Waitrose experience though, but okay for most of us.

You don't need to understand why. The people that are building it/that own it understand exactly why they are doing it.

Knock down John Lewis and bung a stadium there I say.
Never happen @username123 as I understand it, the most profitable JL in the country?
Only a joke tbh @EwanHoosaami. However, the roof is still shagged on it which was too expensive to replace even when they did the refit. It was only designed with a 25yr life expectancy max. In fact the whole store was a trial for out of town, which clearly worked. Mind you, how profitable is a profitable JL these days?!

Is that the roof the burglars broke through to Nick a load of Apple products last December? ?

The other Aldis are both on the other side of town, seems a sensible location to me

World's first stadium on stilts. What a tourist attraction.
I thought that was Lidl? Same concept anyway and it's a very good one.
I'd worry that might raise expectations a bit too much...
Lidl is a couple of hundred yards away. Apparently Aldi is the Waitrose to Lidl’s Asda!
Don't worry everything everywhere is going to be reassuringly expensive as the year wears on...

What’s the height limit for short tennis?
No hight limit but games can only last five minutes
Good question @MorrisItal_ . In my original draft, peering came out as peeing. You could have had a field day.
Contrary to popular belief peeing into saucepans is not my idea of a field day.

Problem with the Aldi behind B&Q is sometimes it's a begger to get out. I prefer the Lidl on the A40 as it has many express/self checkouts.
You don't need to understand why. The people that are building it/that own it understand exactly why they are doing it.
If you build it They will come. Hence a coffee franchise every other shop.
And will take customers from Tesco/Waitrose/Sainsbury where you have to pay for parking.

Some interesting developments going on at Wycombe Air Park

Shouldn't that have read "dyed in the wool", Micra?

Easy to forget things you said at 5 am (body clock 4 am)!
