It was originally based on an ITK at the time saying Dobbo was holding up the move as he was not keen, but GA would not leave without him. We had about half a day of wondering if Dobbo might be our new manager.
I think I remember who the ITK was, and they had a strong track record. Dobbo looking like someone ran over his psychological analysis paperwork in the leaving video just added fuel to the fire.
As well as this just being amusing it seems Heaton was preferred to Bishop, not sure if he's heading off on loan finally, glad some other team get to guess
I suspect like Wycombe after The Torquay season GA's best bet is that that QPR buy into his vision or cannot afford to sack him, Dobbo and Dave Waites. I am surprised they have not been able to attract the likes of Wing there though.
I too am happy with the present situation having seen the signings and the game on Saturday. My heart goes out to GA and Dobbo for whom the light lashing they may have had from some on the Gasroom at times pales into insignificance looking at the QPR forums. I hope they rise triumphantly and get the call from Blackburn next term! My only possible regret is that I think without the distraction we might possibly have squeezed into the playoff positions.
One of the more random transfers I've seen this week has been Gibraltar international Niels Hartman go off to America to spend a year as a grad student/player at the University of Vermont's soccer team. But hey if it's a pathway to the MLS or USL then he's doing alright.
That’ll be a cold winter for someone used to the weather in Gibraltar, I have the feeling the average temperature in Burlington in January is something like -10.
Jaiden Bartolo, the Gibraltar U17 striker I'd been raving about, has joined Wealdstone's academy and is already training with the first team. Hope he succeeds with them, seems to be talking to Tjay while he's there to help settle in. If he comes good might end up joining him here.
Peter Shilton never played a game in 1994 after deciding to retire from playing during Christmas 1993, he was player manager of Plymouth at this point. He did not play again until March 1995 when he turned out for Bolton. Buffon's first senior game was November 1995.
If your dates are correct Shilton played both in the 93/4 season and the 94/5 season. I presume Buffon played in the 95/6 season. Hence @LX1 statistic was correct.
I was looking at years opposed to seasons which would make @LX1 correct and my slightly confused stats correct too. Can’t believe he came out of retirement at 45 and played in the early Playoffs

Bishop is heading to Sunderland on a permanent I believe. Until United change their mind.

Didn't James Richie Rich put a "QPR were never in for Wing" disclaimer at the end of one of his recent pieces.
Frosts for 6 months of the year and biting winds
Well he's spent the past couple of years in Loughborough so shouldn't be too different
But hey, if he does well he could end up in the next MLS SuperDraft
But surely that Ainsworth was after Wing, Forino, Josh Scowen, Bodger, two or three of the stewards and the German Sausage wagon?
I heard (made up) that he's also after De Barr for somewhere upto 2m.
(You just know Jimmy Rich is going to pick that up now and run it)
I am so tempted to post that on Twitter myself.
He'll hoover that up quicker than a BFP "reporter" on the high wycombe fb group.
These Barbie crossovers have gone too far https://www.fulhamfc.com/news/2023/august/01/away-kit-launched/

Bishop to Sunderland is done. Before the season and everything.
This season will be the first time since 1930/31 that none of Stanley Matthews, Peter Shilton or Gianluigi Buffon have played
Peter Shilton never played a game in 1994 after deciding to retire from playing during Christmas 1993, he was player manager of Plymouth at this point. He did not play again until March 1995 when he turned out for Bolton. Buffon's first senior game was November 1995.
I stand corrected sir. And will get onto my Rhyl mate who supplied me with this false info
His last Plymouth game was October 1993 in a 4-2 loss away at Burnley.
GoS-DB Players (greensonscreen.co.uk)
So he didn't play a competitive game for nearly 18 months afterwards.
If your dates are correct Shilton played both in the 93/4 season and the 94/5 season. I presume Buffon played in the 95/6 season. Hence @LX1 statistic was correct.
Shilton played for Plymouth in 93/94 and made two appearances for Bolton in 94/95
Buffon made his senior debut in 95/96
I was looking at years opposed to seasons which would make @LX1 correct and my slightly confused stats correct too. Can’t believe he came out of retirement at 45 and played in the early Playoffs
The lesson here is never doubt @LX1
I seem to recall news reports on his 1000th game (for Orient). I think he came out of retirement for -ahem! - cash flow reasons.
He was one of the early victims of gambling addiction, I believe.
Have enjoyed the manager the BBC has quoted most on anger over changes to game length for this season is... Gareth Ainsworth
That's quite an odd statement. People have been addicted to gambling since gambling was invented
