How tall was the barman who we signed up as a goalkeeper a few years back?
Even if he doesn't have much skill, signing a 6'10 front man would get bums on seats and a real buzz in the media. And could be exactly the sort of signing needed to build an audience of iPlayer subscribers in the US as well.

Edit: Jason Mooney was 204cm.
Jason Mooney. 6’8.5”. Kept bar but never played for Wanderers. Played 26 matches for Stanley. Now 32 and, seemingly, back in Northern Ireland.
I am ever in awe of people who can look at a distant fuzzy photo and identify him as a specific National League footballer!
Another guy of religion it seems. If coming to us, I wonder if that helped to make the difference. Allowing guys to be open about their faith without fear of ridicule seems to be a real positive point of difference our club can offer. Can only be a good thing.
Do wonder though if new transfer spotters should abandon Cressex service station and hang out around Christ the servant king in Cressex instead….
I’ll always remember Fola for the casually posed question from the late Tony Wyatt when he was introduced to us in the Woodland Lounge. “Come to change the light bulbs, have yer?” Fola seemed to take it in good part but, sadly, in retrospect the question didn’t seem quite as outrageous!

Rowan Liburd was even more ineffective than Fola, probably the worst tall striker, I've seen in a Wanderers shirt, with the exception of Gary Toll.
Certainly looks like him - same hairstyle. Who is that (26) next to him. Unless he’s over 6’, the ‘mystery’ man doesn’t look 6’9”. I watched an interview with Tyle Udlin. Doesn’t seem likely to be the life and soul of the party but the Brummie accent doesn’t help and I would refer honourable ladies and gentlemen to my earlier comments about Gareth Southgate.
Lincoln have loaned in Dan Nlundulu from Southampton. Could be a shrewd piece of business from them. Equally Joel Mumbongo at Accrington. Premier League U23 teams are full of very impressive looking players waiting for the chance to shine. Excited to see who Gaz eventually unveils, still hoping its Muskwe.
We all know we're going to be worried we won't get anybody any good and then if we do, we'll worry they they will be poached in January and if they aren't poached in January they'll follow Gareth to QPR in the Summer.

Cardiff and Sheffield Wednesday also looking at Hudlin. Not sure we can compete with those two.
Wycombe can compete with Cardiff and Sheffield Wednesday on a number of fronts, particularly when it comes to players in our own backyard:
Wycombe is now very well known as a club where players enjoy their stay
Wycombe is now very well known as a club where players develop both their football and their psyche
Wycombe is now very well known as a club that is prepared to put young talent on the field
Wycombe is now very well known as a club that does not stand in the way of players moving on to the next level
I reckon that puts us well up the queue with the sort of player that we are trying to attract.
Don’t disagree with a lot of what you said but it didn’t stop Adeniran signing for Sheffield. Wednesday after being on loan and saying it was brilliant with us. I think we need to be realistic . Despite being more financially secure we still cannot compete with the big boys in our League.

We can compete with them on the pitch if not in the market, and were 7 points clear at the top of the league at one point last time we were here.
I am convinced L1 teams are going to have an extremely difficult time scoring against us. In the absence of our own (pending) goal solution(s), we are looking at a lot of 0-0s, 1-0s, 1-1s and 0-1s with the squad we have right now. Add some goals, and defeats turn into draws and draws turn into wins! Our defence is a fantastic foundation to build upon, and our midfield is already looking pretty good too.
@davecz It is true, there are players like Adeniran who have shown their pedigree at a higher level already because they have had successful loan spells. That's the sort of player that will command a high wage, particularly if they have been released by their parent club and team spirit alone cannot compete against big money. The likes of Sheffield Wednesday are not going to offer the same sort of wages to Hudlin for example off the back of a good season in the National League - that's where we can and should compete, along with perhaps the odd rehabilitation of depressed millionaires like Jordon Ibe - send Darius down to have a word and it's a done deal.

Never change gasroom.
The ultra serious analysis of blurry distanced photos mixed with anorak knowledge of the non league scene is pretty hilarious.
I think it’s always a bit dangerous to assume that someone is good in the air or is capable of playing the target man role just because they are tall.
In their own very different ways Fola Onibuje and Stuart Beavon would rather disprove this.
However, let’s hope he can do both as a 6ft 9in frontman would be quite something.
I'm not sure Fola Onibuje had any footballing attributes, other than convincing numerous clubs to take a chance on him.

Perhaps we could combine this giant with 17yo Tottenham striker Dane Scarlett, who Jose Mourinho thinks will be 'phenomenal' in the years to come...
Rowan Liburd was even more ineffective than Fola, probably the worst tall striker, I've seen in a Wanderers shirt, with the exception of Gary Toll.
See also Drewe Broughton.
I think Fola came on as a sub against us for Swindon one night and was a bit of a handful and we signed him off the back of that
Richard Logan was one I remember as particularly bad.
I think* GA may surprise us all by signing a diminutive, quick striker to replace Uche.
*okay I don’t really, but it might be fun

Not sure about the 26, but the guy on the far right is Jack Wakely.
Even if Hudlin isn’t on trial it would surprise me if we haven’t had a look at him.
Hudlin and Scotty K up front together would certainly get some media attention.

If he signs for Cardiff he'd be unlikely to be a first team player - maybe an opportunity for a loan.

Very well said @Ed_ . You’ve buoyed me up.

I'd add Wycombe are solvent and are probably a better bet at the moment for players actually getting paid whatever it is that they agreed.
Good point @StrongestTeam I too favour working for entities who are likely to be around long enough to pay me for services rendered.
