Oh yes, now I remember. Philip Don added something like 10 minutes added time (no one could work out from where) and the opposition scored, and Martin went into his tasmanian devil impression.
@Right_in_the_Middle I’m hoping it will be available on iTunes/Apple soon. It’s currently ‘pending’ which I’m presuming is being checked to make sure it’s not about Col U.

by the way, the striker that Hutch was talking about who refused to go in on Boxing Day.....Nicky Evans yeah?
It was Nicky Evan's, I'm sure he claimed at the time, he had already made plans, and it involved his father in laws Car business that the blonde bombshell worked for.
Funny as time elapses, you think Evan's never kicked a ball again for the Wanderers. But he played the next two games before being sold back to Barnet.
I remember Martin publicly saying Evan's wages would be light, if he never turned up for training.
Just listened to your podcast Phil, very professional and some great anecdotes from Hutch. You do a wonderful job promoting the club and I look forward to future editions.
Great stuff @bluntphil, really enjoyed this. Out of interest, is it possible to include more snippets of Hutch's commentary, or are there copyright issues with that?
Not quite so staggering when you realise that it’s only 68p a week and @Alexo ran up about three quarters of it! (or so he claims/admits at the start of this thread).
Indeed, as a fellow obsessive I probably stumped up a fair proportion of the balance.
Great stuff @bluntphil , some fantastic anecdotes from Hutch an excellent way to get the show on the road. Hopefully there's more to come to brighten my commute to work on Reading's painfully slow buses.
Indeed @Uncle_T . I said to my wife earlier this evening that I had a feeling I’d made a horrible boo-boo. I missed the ‘k’ on my tiny iPhone screen but a dreadful error for someone with a background in figure-related work and and a good record on Countdown ! I’m mortified.
Regarding finding out opposition scores in the league in the late 70's and 80's, we were for ever thankful for Reg 'Gunner' Holt bringing out a white vinyl board with the results on and hooking it up in the Blues club.
What's more Reg would return later with the remains of the trays of sandwiches that were now surplus to requirement from the big wigs in the boardroom.
Reg Holt was a true legend off the pitch, he walked to games at Adams Park from his home up Amersham Hill, well into his 90s I seem to recall. He wrote a short piece in this BFP supplement (page 4).

Just out of interest any plans to go on iTunes? I listen to podcasts on an old iPod with no access to these more modern platforms.

Against Torquay wasn't it?
Yes, I thought Gillingham, but you are right.

Great news. Looking forward to listening

@bluntphil Nice one Philip!
@bluntphil That was a fantastic time travel and an excellent listen. You have set a high bar for the following shows mate!

@bluntphil What a really fascinating listen. Brought back many a memory via the anecdotes from Hutch. Your best piece of public work yet IMHO.
Really enjoyed that @bluntphil and thanks for making it just the right length to finish as I was pulling up on the driveway.
Voice notes is probably the best way of getting fan voices on there @bluntphil .
Very much enjoyed the whole episode - only niggle, levels on the music underneath were perhaps a bit too loud, and slightly drowned out you at times.
Superb stuff thanks @bluntphil
Played this to my grandad also for the Hutch parts and he loved it.

Top work @bluntphil - really enjoyed that, and Hutch's efforts raised a staggering £425k for the club in 12 years!

I make it £681 per week.

@bluntphil Enjoyable listen, great work as always.

Schoolboy error there @micra, very unlike you.
Worrying trend perhaps @Twizz but kind of you to say that !
Another excellent article by Gasman - "Pre-Ringing The Blues memories - 1989 and all that".

Interesting to see we were known as the Chair Bodgers rather than the Chairboys.
