Chante Inniss gave Wycombe the lead midway through the second half, a very composed finish after the keeper rushed out, taking her time shoot into the empty goal. Abingdon took over after that, and equalised soon after with long range shot on the angle, in off the far post.
They also hit the post and nearly scored when a player just failed to meet the ball at the far post. They had more shots then the Chairgirls, who defended superbly, tackling and blocking with real commitment. All in all a good point won.
They have games against teams around and below them coming up, starting with Woodley United away next Sunday, then Warsash Wasps and Newbury twice. This is a good opportunity to gain some points.
This weekend it's the final round of this year's matches. The Chairgirls go to Woodley United on Sunday in the league, kick-off 2pm at Bulmershe Pavilion, Woodlands Avenue, Woodley, Reading RG5 3HE.
United have won two and lost six in the league. Their last match was a 7-2 defeat at Oxford City on 1 December, prior to that a 6-1 home win against Warsash Wasps on 10 November, so they have had few minutes in recent weeks.
The Development team take on Tilehurst Panthers on Sunday, kick-off 2pm at the ASM Stadium, Thame, OX9 3RN. The Panthers lost 11-1 to the senior Chairgirls last month.
The U18s have a derby match in the league at Wycombe Saints. Kick-off at 10:30am tomorrow, Saturday, on the Rye, off Bassetsbury Lane, HW HP11 1QX.
After a four week break, the Chairgirls return to action on Sunday, at home to Warsash Wasps in the league. The Wasps prop up the table, W1 D1 L5 F10 A36, but had an excellent 5-3 league win at Newbury last time out on 8 December. Kick-off 2pm at Bucks College Group, Spring Lane, Flackwell Heath HP10 9HE.
The game of the day in the Premier is AFC Bournemouth CST v Moneyfields, both teams with 100% records. Those two will fight it out to be champions, Abingdon Utd and Wycombe will probably contest third and fourth places, with Oxford City not far behind. City have yet to play the top two, and have already lost to Abingdon and Wycombe.
The Development team are away to Tilehurst Panthers in the league on Sunday, ko 2pm on Sunday at Linear Park, RG31 7AW.
Moneyfields won 3-0 at Bournemouth and become the favourites to win the league. Abingdon United won 9-0 at Newbury, and Newbury are the Chairgirls opponents in the league next Sunday at Flackwell.
The Development side lost 4-3 at Tilehurst Panthers.
So, after a five week break and with fingers firmly crossed for an actual game, the Chairgirls look forward to hosting Newbury in the league on Sunday. KO 2pm at Bucks College Group, Spring Lane, Flackwell Heath HP10 9HE.
Good to see the Chairgirls hard at work in the gym this week:
Great start on 2 mins when Chante Inniss cut into the box, beating the defender and shooting high into the net. Newbury defended well before scoring a shock equaliser on 22 mins, a 40 yard wind assisted shot sailing over Amy Batkin.
The lead was restored on 29 mins, a long free kick not gathered by the keeper low down and Charlotte Bagshaw poked home. Chante scored her second on 36 mins, a superbly taken shot over her shoulder and Tara Woodward made it four on 41 mins, clean through and calmly passing into the net. Tara also had a goal chalked off for offside.
A comfortable win with goals after the break from Jackson, deftly beating her defender and shooting home, Woodward with a superb chip into the far corner, and Lynch with a 30 yard belter. It could have been more, several good chances went begging as Wycombe played some really enterprising football, some lovely passing movements down the flanks.
It was a clean sweep this weekend. The Development ream recorded a superb 2-0 win today at Abbey Rangers, only their second loss of the season. Chloe Ball with the goals, 1-0 at HT.
You came out in numbers for the FA Cup game at Chesham in October. The Chairgirls would really appreciate your support on Sunday when they take on Maidenhead United at home, in the semi-final of the Berks & Bucks Senior Cup. Kick-off a little earlier, 1pm at Bucks College Group, Spring Lane, Flackwell Heath HP10 9HE.
Last season the Chairgirls lost to MK Dons at the same stage, and they play Chesham United in the other semi-final on Sunday. The final will be on Sunday 22 March, venue to be decided. This is a really good opportunity to get to a major final, I'm not sure if they have ever got to a B & B Senior Cup Final before.
Although Maidenhead play one level above, in the National League Division 1 South West, their fifth consecutive season in that division, they have found it tough going once more. Last season they finished tenth out of eleven, level on points with the bottom club. This season they have a W2 D0 L6 F7 A27 record and lie third from bottom. Those two wins were against the two sides below, Swindon and Poole, both in September. Since then their only wins have been in the B & B, 3-1 at Woodley United and 3-0 at Newbury in the last round. In September in the league, Maidenhead lost 4-0 at Chesham, who beat the Chairgirls 3-0 a few weeks later.
The form guide, then, points to a very close match so we really do need you there in numbers to tip the balance. The weather forecast is chilly, but dry and sunny in the afternoon, so get down to Flackwell for what is sure to be an entertaining cup tie! Remember that early 1pm kick-off.
The Development side are also in B & B action on Sunday, in the Junior Cup Quarter Finals. They face Milton United at home, who are going well in Thames Valley Counties Division 2, two levels below the Chairgirls. Kick-off is 2pm at the ASM Stadium, Thame OX9 3RN.
The U18s travel to league leaders Barton United U-17 tomorrow.
United scored on 23 minutes, long high cross well controlled and smashed in from ten yards. The Chairgirls equalised 3 minutes later, a Sam Jackson corner fell to Tara Woodward to poke home. Five minutes before the break, a 25 yard free kick from the side of the penalty area sailed into the top corner. Right on half-time Lindsay Pink had a 30 yard shot well topped over. The stand-in Wycombe keeper, Hannah Cox, has made two terrific saves.
An even game, very entertaining, both sides have had spells in control.
Wycombe had plenty of the ball in the second half but didn't have enough clear chances. The best was a Sam Jackson shot off the cross bar. Hannah Cox made another couple of smart saves for the Chairgirls, she looks a good signing.
Wycombe played well but the higher level defence proved too good in the end. The other semi-final, MK Dons v Chesham Utd at Mursley Utd, was postponed due to a frozen pitch.
Congratulations to the Development team who beat Milton United 3-1 in the B&B Junior Cup today. No details as yet. The U-18s lost 4-3 at Barton United yesterday.
On Sunday the Chairgirls travel to Newbury in the Chairman's Cup Quarter-Finals, two weeks after beating them 7-1 in the league. They visit them in two weeks time as well, in the league. The winners will play either New Milton Town or Southampton Women's Reserves, who play their tie in two weeks time. Kick-off 2pm at Donnington Recreation Ground, Donnington, Newbury RG14 2LD.
The Development team host bottom of the table Alton in the league at the ASM Stadium on Sunday. A 2pm start at Tythorp Way, Thame, Oxon OX9 3RN.
The U-18s start the defence of the Berks & Bucks Girls U-18 Cup, in the Quarter-Finals after a walkover in the last round. They travel to Wargrave Girls tomorrow at 11am.
Goals for Woodward (13, 48, 85), Inniss (34) and Jackson (69). Newbury scored on 49 minutes. So the Chairgirls will wait two weeks to learn whether New Milton Town or Southampton Women's Reserves will be their semi-final opponents.
In the other half of the Chairman's Cup draw today, Abingdon Town beat Woodley United 3-1. Premier bottom side Warsash Wasps nearly pulled off a shock at home to Division One South leaders Abbey Rangers, losing 14-13 on penalties, 1-1 after 90 minutes.
The Development side beat Alton 3-2 in the league today and yesterday the U-18s lost 2-0 at Wargrave in the B & B.
Next Sunday the Chairgirls continue their close rivalry with Abingdon United, away in the league.
The other Berks & Bucks Womens Senior Cup semi-final was played today at Winslow. MK Dons beat Chesham United 5-3 and play Maidenhead United in the final.

The Development team's game at Southampton Women's Reserves today was postponed today. I have not seen a reason yet, presumably an unfit pitch. They are also in sixth position:
