  • Twenties at least, I think.

  • FT Wargrave 0-7 U18s (according to @WWFCWomen, Sanders 3, Bray 2, Paish, Carter, but league website has 0-6).

  • FT Winchester City Flyers 3-2 Firsts.

  • Chante Inniss scored both goals for the Firsts yesterday.

The only other game in the league yesterday saw Moneyfields win 6-0 at bottom placed Woodley, to clinch the title. Fellow strugglers Oxford City had their game at Eastleigh postponed.

With the season completed, it's a waiting game now for the Firsts, to see if two of the three teams below them can overtake them with their games in hand.

    Latest tables:

    Firsts
    Reserves
    U18s

  • Have the first team lost a lot of players @Steve_Peart ? Or are they just playing in a much stronger division this season ?

  • @HolmerBlue, experienced players left in the summer for other clubs, and injuries have also hit them hard, especially captain Charlotte Bagshaw, out for the season.

U18 players have come into the side and impressed, but it is a big jump up to senior football, faster and more physical. Long term I think the future is bright, with a good base of young players.

  • I haven't seen enough games to judge the standard of the division but I sense that other teams have become stronger this season.

  • Ok thanks for that, would be great if they could keep improving

  • Tomorrow it's the Berks & Bucks U18 Girls' Cup Final, as the U18s take on Moretonville Junior U18 Falcons. The Chairgirls are seeking to retain the cup they won in 2018-19, after the competition was voided in 2019-20 and not started last season.

Moretonville had an impressive 3-2 semi-final win against Abingdon Town, who of course have twice defeated the Chairgirls in the league this season. The Falcons are based in Gawcott, near Buckingham, and they play in the Bedfordshire Girls League U18 Division 1, which is divided into three seasonal leagues. In the Autumn and Winter leagues, they finished second behind Luton Town in both, and they have yet to start the Spring League.

The programme can be downloaded from https://www.thefa.com/-/media/cfa/berks-bucksfa/files/county-cup-docs/2021-22/programmes/u18-girls-cup-final-programme-2021_22download.ashx. It has useful histories of the clubs and pen pictures.

The match kicks-off at 3pm, at MK Irish FC, Pavilion Manor Field, Bletchley MK2 2HX. Admission: Adults £5 adults, U18s £2, U5s free. An interesting ground with two seated stands, one of which runs the entire length of the pitch. Unusual for this level.

If you are not going to Portsmouth, the Chairgirls would love to see you there.

The men have sent their good wishes!

  • Last I heard the Chairgirls were 4-1 up - fantastic for them and the club

  • 4-1 to the Chairgirls is the final score

3-1 at half-time, scorers Brooke Sanders, Jess Gomes(2) and Nina Cook.

Really pleasing to see them take home a cup, a deserved reward for their excellent season so far.

  • @Steve_Peart thanks for the confirmation, so pleased for the girls and the club

  • Great stuff. Thanks @Steve_Peart.

  • Well done girls, fantastic stuff !

  • The Berks & Bucks U18 Girls' Cup Winners 2021-22!

  • After last week's excitement, it's back to the league tomorrow when the U18s travel to Winnersh Rangers U18s. Kick-off 10:15 at Cantley Park, Twyford Road, Wokingham RG40 5QG.

Rangers lie second from bottom and lost 12-0 to the Chairgirls in January.

  • FT Winnersh 0-7 U18s.

Scorers: Collett, MacKay, Price, Sage, Sanders, Gomes Bray.

The Chairgirls remain top, three points clear of Abingdon Town who have four games in hand.

  • It's the final match of the season for WWFCW as the U18s play Penn & Tylers Green U18s at home. In the reverse fixture in September, the Chairgirls won 3-0.

Kick-off 10:00 (according to @WWFCWomen, but 10:30 on the league website) at Lane End Playing Fields, HP14 3JU.

The U18s will be parading the B & B Cup at half-time tomorrow at Adams Park, give them some well earned applause.

    FT U18s 6-3 Penn & Tylers Green.

  • Thanks for all the updates this season Steve - much appreciated.

    Seconded

  • U18s scorers yesterday were Brooke Sanders, Jess Gomes, Jess Fuller, Naomi Tilley and Molly Carter (2).

That win sends the Chairgirls six points clear at the top of Abingdon Town, who have five games in hand.

  • Some important matches in the Firsts' division today.

    Abingdon Town 2-0 Oxford City
Winchester City Flyers 4-1 Woodley Utd

    Last weekend:
    Oxford City 4-1 Woodley United

That means that the Flyers move above the Chairgirls, who are now one point above Oxford City, and they have two games in hand. City's goal difference is five worst than Wycombe's. Woodley have finished bottom.

Oxford's two remaining games are away to Eastleigh and Winchester. Both of those games were postponed in March and neither game has been rescheduled yet. From past examples, that could mean the league is still deciding whether the games should be awarded to one of the clubs, depending on the reason for postponement.

  • The Reserves have arranged a post-season home friendly against Ruislip Rangers on Sunday.

Two Thames Valley Counties teams, 3rd in Div 3N v 2nd in Div 3E. KO 2pm at Lane End HP14 3JU.

  • FT Reserves 2-2 Ruislip Rangers.

Goals from Eve Savage and an own goal.

  • New Head Coach appointed.

"WWWFC are delighted to announce that Carl Simon has been appointed to the role of Head Coach and team manager for the first team.

Carl is an experienced coach with a proven track record of managing, motivating and developing individuals and teams. He has worked as a coach, mentor and tutor for 14 years within football and education. He was recently 1st team manager of Watford Ladies FC, where he managed a group of 30 players ranging in age from 16 -27 years old, in Tier 6 of the English Women’s football pyramid.

He will be ably supported by Dan Weber and Jaymie Bailey in this role.

We look forward to welcoming Carl to WWWFC and driving the Club forward to more success next season."

  • The U18s played Oxford City U18s in a friendly at Lane End today. The Chairgirls won 4-3, goals from Nina Cook, Molly Carter and two from new player Harriet Bray.

  • Carl Simon? You probably think this song is about you.

  • The post-season friendlies continue as the Firsts travel to QPR Women Reserves on Sunday, giving new Head Coach Carl Simon his first look at the team in action.

QPR Reserves play in the Greater London Women's Football League Division 1 North, tier 8, and currently lie second in the table. Kick-off 2pm at Cranford Community College TW5 9PD.

Still no news on whether Oxford City's two postponed games will be played, they are not listed in upcoming fixtures.
