  • Distance running is as much about tactics and psychology as it is about speed. To say Mo Farah isn't the best in the world just because he doesn't hold the world record is like saying Leicester shouldn't be champions because they haven't scored the most goals.

  • So, back to AAH, when I saw him there were moments of brilliant control, too often followed by a near miss (Wembley anyone!). The major frustrations were his general refusal to track back even when the oppo had the ball five or ten yards away and his near total lack of enthusiasm when he actually did score.

I may disagree on many of the gaffa's tactical decisions (one of the Accy posters describing our style as "beach football" made me chuckle) but I do believe in 'Wycombizing' the whole team, which is what this whole discussion on 100% application really is. AAH just did not fit that mould and was therefore farmed out, reguardless of his obvious potential.

Good luck to him, hope he goes to an English club so we can recoup some of the investment in him; I just can't see a change in attitude with him playing in the quarters. C'est la vie!

  • The problem is he has a mind of his own.

If you think so as you no him. Why don't people just get off his back and let him get on with it. It's odvious he won't be coming back. Why keep digging at him. Get a life.

  • I think people can't let it go as we spent half a season rehabbing him, then he showed plenty of glimpses that if we could get him fit, and get his mind on it, we'd have a very good player indeed.

In the end we couldn't, and no doubt found out why he hasn't found a long term home to date.
A real shame, but we've lost much better players and still moved on.

Sorry but wasn't he at Bristol city for 6 years mmmmm!

  • Least that's what I thought from 14 so 5,6 years then Newport then Wycombe so how is that a lot of clubs. Make it sound like he's been released from loads of clubs.

  • @scarlet - If Aaron is as good as you suggest, Oldham will give him a contract for next season. For whatever reason, Gareth couldn't give him a starting place in the team so surely it is time to move on.

  • It's often because you @scarlet and @ticktock can't stop posting about him. A quick look at both of your posts over time reveal an obsession with the man. It's almost as if he's family or something?

What is that comment about having 'a mind of his own' being made for? Answer; to have a little dig at the manager for not indulging the talent.

I think he's a great player on his day. Trouble is there aren't enough of them. And anyone who's listened to GA will understand he can't cope (rightly or wrongly) with people who don't want to put in a shift EVERY GAME. This means that you're going to see the more workmanlike talent favoured over a highly skilled but more laid back character.

For me, there's always room for a couple of mavericks, but I'm of the opinion that they'd need to give a lot more than AAH has.

That is correct no place for him so move on now.

  • He has already moved on, please leave him alone.

  • @scarlet , he's 23 and the most notable spell of his career has been his time with us. One season where half the year was trying to get fit, the second season a complete non starter.

Checked his Bristol City record. 0 appearances.
I'd probably write that off as insignificant to be honest pal.

  • Viagra

  • Everyone is entitled too my opinion , goodnight all x

  • are scarlet and ticktock the same person or just in the same room do we think?

  • Same surname anyway

  • is it banterking by any chance?

  • Is their surname Holloway?

  • That would be my guess.

  • Poor guess as I'm not either of them

  • The idea of a relative of Holloway's taking the time to make 2 or 3 separate logins up, and then post as them on a rotation basis over a few hours is ridiculous.

    As that'd be beyond embarrassing.

  • Different relatives I think.

  • It's a bit sad. Are they also posting on the Odham and Rangers forums? Must have busy lives to be able to split their time across the forums of three different clubs.

No I don't is your answer why would I. And I have a very buzzy life not sad .

  • No worries - say hi to Aaron from me. He's a talented man, just needs to work harder to realise his true potential.
