Some so called fans have no idea and are shirt sighted. Ok so.woods has not had am amazing start to the season however his non stop.running and final.ball are vital, especially against prem league side. WOODS has been one of our signings of the last decade.
he's the main man for getting crosses in, along with Jacobsen on set pieces, so he won't be missing a game when fit anytime soon.
The one I don't get is Kretzch. Could understand him getting in when we had 2 games in 3 days to rest the older strikers, but he shouldn't ever get in over Holloway.
Not the style of "knock it quick" football we play
if he's that close to the first team of a Premier league team, I guess the obvious question is why on earth would they loan him to a League 2 team, and not a higher team, perhaps championship?
I agree with RM, McCarthy has much more potential than Mawson and if I was the Saints manager I would be looking to send him on loan to a First Division club for the rest of the season.
I know alot more than you think, Jason will be staying here though and yes if the appeal isn't successful we will sign a goalkeeper to sit on the bench v Villa.
Morning @richmayes999 . In the intended New Year spirit I was wondering why you pop up on here for short intense periods where you attack each thread like a dog with a new squeeky toy and then vanish for long periods when equally interesting stuff is being discussed and your 'inside information' might prove valuable.
I was also wondering if your 'amazing Mawson' comment was intended as the dig I read it as. Are you questioning Mawson's ability compared to his reputation at Wycombe? As things stand at the moment I would say Mawson had more of an impact as a player than McCarthy in his first three months but both are excellent young players we have been lucky to see at Adams Park.
Finally I don't like your more aggresive responses to posters questioning your views. Personally I think you are a wind up merchant but that is based as much on the pointless aggresion in your answers as it is the scatter gun approach to your insider knowledge.
Worst poster by a country mile. I have my suspicions who it is, from a post or 2 on the Wycombe fb page.
@micra he'll have watched every Mawson game obviously. A man of his knowledge won't just have made a judgement on Barnsley themselves struggling, obviously all their players "must" be.
As for McCarthy v Mawson, well Mawson was clearly better for us on showings so far, but obviously McCarthy is rated by a higher level team than we got Mawson from. So McCarthy has the slight edge with potential, but we all know that has to be realised.
Still makes little sense for a League 2 team to be the best place to give him experience if he really is destined for the Premier league though.
You cannot tell me there isn't a team in the 2 divisions above who could "risk" it.

RK?
@richmayes999 Ronald Koeman? Though I wouldn't be amazed if it wasn't Koeman, probably someone in the hierarchy of the Southampton youth set up.
who ever picked that needs to go to specsavers.
Have to agree with that one Malone!
McCarthy is Captain of U21 and is close close to the 1st team, it will be RK who makes the decision as Ainsworth has said in the BFP.

Because we can take the risk, he is plenty good enough to play higher and Id put serious money that he has a better career than the amazing Mawson.
@richmayes999 sorry, could you explain your last post, doesn't make sense to me?

I think the amount we pay towards his BIG wages is an issue
What makes you continually pretend that you know things @richmayes999 when it's just bullshit and speculation? I'm interested to know your motivation.
You don't know any more about how much McCarthy gets paid than any of he rest of us. Or how much Wycombe pay to Southampton.
Any ideas on emergency goalkeeper loan signings for the Villa game? You were so clued up during the playoffs after all.
I know alot more than you think, Jason will be staying here though and yes if the appeal isn't successful we will sign a goalkeeper to sit on the bench v Villa.

He's a wum and best ignored, probably the worst poster on here with his continuous lies and bullshit.
It wasn't a dig at Alfie who is struggling in league 1, people who said premiership or england really need to wake up and smell the coffee.
What makes you think Alfie is struggling? He's skipper after all (at 21).
He has already been dropped and look at the position they are in, he should never have been made captain at a club of that size.

He missed one game and we don't know the reason.
no chance we'll be loaning a keeper in if Ingram is out! Baz can sit on a bench for a game!
barry richardson was on crutches last week, shame u have no idea what your talking about.
@malone - I have never posted on the WWFC Facebook page.
didn't say you had posted, but your name has come up.
You made a lot of bold statements as fact for the playoffs last season, and were laughably wrong on all of those.
So forgive me if I don't believe your guff this time
I could see with my own eyes he was on crutches, we won't go without a keeper on the bench for a game of this size live on TV.
Neatly side stepped my questions earlier @richmayes999 . Why do you only post in short rabid bursts on this site and then go missing for ages?
Enjoyed your not having a dig at Alfie Mawson but having another dig just in case post.
Remember children, you will both be back at school tomorrow!
