Re: Match Day Thread: Huddersfield
Good win for the Terriers but on that showing it will be playoffs rather than automatic for both of us.
Can't argue with the goal and they sorted Kone out good and proper.
I thought there was little Franco could go but punch...but he's a Wycombe goalkeeper so the bloke on the bench is always better.🙂
I liked the Stick Them All On gambit... which would have taken the heat off and possibly freed up Kone...had they not taken him off.
Like @eric_plant I saw it as frustrating and we deserved a point for the second half but not a disaster.
But I often cannot smell.the coffee when I'm wearing my rose tinted glasses.
I thought Bradley was a good solid addition and gives us some threat at set pieces, if they are not all total **** as they were in the main tonight.
We seem to be too scared to shoot.
Some strange refereeing decisions but it is what it is.
Two reserve teams on Friday then back to the winning please.
Re: Match Day Thread: Huddersfield
“seems that Dan does not like/want Blooms which is a real shame.” Not sure what you mean by this.
Re: Match Day Thread: Huddersfield
Tonight was also another unpleasant reminder of just how bad the refereeing can be at this level.
So many ridiculous dives were either ignored or rewarded with a free kick.
10-15 years ago I would have said it was impossible that duping the referee would be far more common in League 1 than the Premier League. Sadly, I'd have been wrong.
Re: Match Day Thread: Huddersfield
This is one of the things I don’t understand about modern football. Back in the day managers like Clough and Ferguson had complete control over all aspects of the players coming in and out of their clubs. It must be incredibly frustrating to have no influence over this in the modern game. Having said that, we really don’t know what the current arrangement between MB and DR is regarding recruitment.
Re: Man of the Match - Huddersfield (H)
Humphreys, the only one who looked like he might be able to make something happen
Re: Match Day Thread: Huddersfield
Interesting line in MB’s post match interview. “I’m sure that there will be additions that the club would like to make”.
He seems far removed from the process.
Re: Match Day Thread: Huddersfield
Yes, this is certainly our rough patch. I think 99.9% of Wycombe Wanderers supporters would have taken a play-off place back in August. We certainly have a budget, debatable how far it will stretch though.
We really need to bring Aaron Morley back. He's played a pivotal role in our incredible season (unbeaten run) so far. We really missed him tonight.
Re: Match Day Thread: Huddersfield
Hanlan's first touch causes himself more problems than the opposition.
