  • Another 100K on the Morley price tag tonight.

  • Positives.from today

    2nd half performance

    Humphries performance

Udoh when he come on was dangerous

Sonny's debut was solid and looked good and commanding

    Negatives

    1st half performance

    Huddersfield constant diving

Leahy - poor as usual and needs to be dropped

    no fit RBs in squad

Blooms subbing off Kone when formation changed

    1st half formation

    Franco makes costly mistake again

    Bakinson passing is poor

    result

seems that Dan does not like/want Blooms which is a real shame.

We need RB (Imran ), Morley and CB (hopefully Exter CB) if this happens really confident of at least playoffs

  • I’m not interested in them pal. Just noticed how much you go on about it.

  • We have played some amazing football this season but today we didn’t

  • Every team in the top 6 is going to have a shit spell between now and March, maybe Birmingham will be the exception. This is the hard part of the season and it’s the teams that drop the least points that will be in contention for the last 10 games. January is about grinding out some points and bedding in new players. Hopefully MB will get the backing we desperately need to maintain our challenge. It would be a massive disappointment if it all drifted away now, which shows how far we’ve come.

  • not sure the new ownership are willing to back MB...if that is the case I will 100% NOT be renewing my ST

  • Before the season started, I never dreamt that we would be pissed off with 1-0 defeat to Huddersfield. In fact, I never dreamt that we'd be 2nd half way through the season (and top for a large chunk of it).

I agree we will miss Morley and Taylor, just as much as we would have done if they got injured. This time last year it would have been a tragedy if Vokes or Taff got injured. Now we don't even seem to acknowledge that they will play for us again.

Good season. Good Times. Onwards and upwards.

  • We don’t know this yet, every team has their targets but most business is done later in the window.

  • Hanlan is another playing I'd be showing the door to, if we make any attacking signings this month. Kone off for him at number 9 is an astonishingly big downgrade.

  • Interesting line in MB’s post match interview. “I’m sure that there will be additions that the club would like to make”.

He seems far removed from the process.

  • Hanlan caused them more issues in the time he was on than Kone did in the time he was on didn't he?

Sometimes I come home and think I've been at a different game

  • This is one of the things I don’t understand about modern football. Back in the day managers like Clough and Ferguson had complete control over all aspects of the players coming in and out of their clubs. It must be incredibly frustrating to have no influence over this in the modern game. Having said that, we really don’t know what the current arrangement between MB and DR is regarding recruitment.

  • Tonight was also another unpleasant reminder of just how bad the refereeing can be at this level.

So many ridiculous dives were either ignored or rewarded with a free kick.

10-15 years ago I would have said it was impossible that duping the referee would be far more common in League 1 than the Premier League. Sadly, I'd have been wrong.

  • One post on your hate figure per thread is enough.

  • Hanlan's first touch causes himself more problems than the opposition.

  • yes , heard this ...very concerning this....B surely won't stand for this , he needs players that HE wants NOT what Dan Rice wants....first impressions of Dan was good however they are now changing ...

  • His post match interview certainly suggested that he isn’t having much involvement in transfers.

  • edited January 7

This can't come as a great surprise to anyone? It's not a problem as long as all parties are still getting on.

  • “seems that Dan does not like/want Blooms which is a real shame.” Not sure what you mean by this.

  • Yes he’s a head coach in everything but name. As has been the case for a while.

  • Good win for the Terriers but on that showing it will be playoffs rather than automatic for both of us.

Can't argue with the goal and they sorted Kone out good and proper.

I thought there was little Franco could go but punch...but he's a Wycombe goalkeeper so the bloke on the bench is always better.🙂

I liked the Stick Them All On gambit... which would have taken the heat off and possibly freed up Kone...had they not taken him off.

Like @eric_plant I saw it as frustrating and we deserved a point for the second half but not a disaster.

But I often cannot smell.the coffee when I'm wearing my rose tinted glasses.

I thought Bradley was a good solid addition and gives us some threat at set pieces, if they are not all total **** as they were in the main tonight.

We seem to be too scared to shoot.

Some strange refereeing decisions but it is what it is.

Two reserve teams on Friday then back to the winning please.

  • Could Bakinson fill in at right back to enable the defence to revert to a back four again?

  • Bungs. Their Kids as agents. Losing touch with age. Falling out with the owners. Being offered the QPR job. I think the age of the benevolent dictator is long gone.

  • You’re describing the golden age. A proper full English while passing the brown paper bag under the table.

  • I 100% will be renewing my season ticket. Or monthly subscription which kinda just rolls on but the point is there’s a hell of a lot of supposition going on here.

  • To be honest, I don’t think you can go on tonight’s showing for both teams as to where we may finish.

We had 9 starters missing tonight, playing second in the league away from home. Grabbed an early goal and basically said come and break us down. Our defence will put us up there, January will decide whether we push for autos or not.

From what I understand you had a few players missing too? It was a tough game for you to break down, especially because we came so defensively. You missed that person that can unlock a defence with a pass. Not the advert for top of the league, but a hard though battle.

  • Talk of not renewing season tickets or owners not backing the manager is really silly talk when the team are in 2nd place 25 games in.

Even the most cup overflowing full poster wouldn't have been mad enough to predict top 2 last summer.

Yes we're wobbling more than a terrace burger muncher but we're still right in this. Just need the right tweaks.

  • Anyway, agents Ainsworth and Dobbo to do us a favour on Saturday by thrashing Huddersfield .

  • Surprised so many people are downbeat. Surely this was a much improved showing from what we saw against Charlton, Exeter and Blackpool? We dominated the 2nd half, played some decent stuff and deserved at least a point in my opinion. Of course we're not performing as well as we were a month or so back, but with the changes in players there's always going to be a drop in consistency.
