Well....Kone is the closest to Kane, I suppose.....
Easy one this week - only two players got close to business as usual for me - Scowen & Humphreys - gave it to the latter
Bradley looked decent. Scowen his usual quality self. Struggling for any other mentions
Thought Udoh was excellent in a very lacklustre performance. Tip of the hat to Sonny Bradley too, partly for having a very solid debut, but also for wiping out that cheating shit Bojan in the first few seconds.
I voted Sonny as well. Was a lovely start to the game from him
Sadly that crunching challenge was about as good as the game got
I'm surprised Harvie got a vote, he was a shadow of the players he's been in the last 4 months.
I’ve no criticism of Bradley, he did well, but he sat in the middle of a back 5 against a team whose forward play was nearly entirely from the wings and offered little treat. Low had a much busier night, being the more mobile of the CB’s.
For me, as others performances have begun to drop, Humphries quality stands out even more. He just looks too good to be in League One. Unfortunately we’re not taking advantage of it currently.
I went with Humphreys, but it was a tough choice tonight.
Scowen for me. I don’t do sympathy votes. Very surprised Humphreys was taking a solid portion of the votes - probably sums up how flat we were, particularly first half before the subs (which made picking a motm harder). No real standouts.
I wonder if he is knackered. Only Joe Low has played more, and his position does not require as many bombing runs!
I thought Scowen was outstanding. Easily our best player.
Humphreys, the only one who looked like he might be able to make something happen
Scowen for me. He was everywhere - as usual.
I went for Bradley for good debut. Scowen and Low runners up...no-one else exactly shone for me.
Sonny looked sound enough, as you’d expect but he was rarely (if ever) under any serious pressure.
Scowen, narrowly ahead of Humphreys.
I suppose the real man of the match to the neutral observer was Huddersfield’s third choice goalkeeper, Jacob Chapman.
Sonny for me. Uncomplicated. Effective. A 7/10 for me.
Between Humpfreys and Udoh for me. Went with the former.
A solid 1st start for Bradley too.
Yes agreed. Chapman looked like an excellent keeper. He was well up for the job
Very poor performance all round but I think Josh kept on going from start to finish. Game ruined by poor tactics and a tired looking pl
players
Thought Sonny was good on debut, loved his first involvement when he smashed their CF. Proper old school defender. My vote is for Scowen who looked at his absolute best, if the header had gone in he would be walking this
Tired looking players, certainly, and hardly surprising but one of the most niggly and cynically physical matches we’ve seen for a very long time. The referee should have brought both captains together early in the game to warn them to cut out the unnecessarily aggressive approach. A few yellow cards early in the game might have helped to curb the aggression.
I’m afraid I have to disagree with @drcongo about that over the top (literally) assault on the Huddersfield number 9 in the opening couple of minutes. In a way, that set the tone and at that stage I was worried about what kind of player we had recruited. But after that, largely because he was under no pressure whatsoever, he looked firmly in control. A very good signing.
Scowen for his usual exploits - put in a couple of delightful free-kicks as well
Top 10 of the season standings. Scowen's injury (coming when he had a big lead) has made it wide open this season. Kone was subsequently running away with it, but Humphreys and Scowen have closed a little. No-one else is anywhere near.
