I think we're reading too much into all this. The interviews I have seen with him have all looked pretty much the same. At the end of the day Morley was a Bolton player they've recalled for whatever reason. It seems he can't play for anyone else, so he's either going to finish the season with them in their team as a 'new signing' or Dan Rice is off to Lommy's lair for £16 million pounds so we can compete in the Championship.
