ahhhh I misread this assignment as highest points totals in a season for league winner...oops. Kind of begs the question why Preston aren't upthere having been in the Champ for what feels like forever.
That would be an interesting one - and would we sit higher in the L1 or L2 standings? I assume L1 as it is a more transitional division and we have spent a couple (two? three?) more seasons there, but it would be fascinating either way.
I don’t have the seasons to hand but we spent a long period of time in the third tier before relegation, so my guess is we would be pretty high especially as you say it’s transitional with 7 teams switching each season .

Hull?
Cardiff
Sunderland?
Neither Man City or Forest were in top 17, sorry!
Edit: None of Hull, Cardiff or Sunderland were top 17 either.
I just realized that you have guessed all of the top 17 except 1st and 5th. Pretty amazing to do so well but not get two of the top dogs!
Leeds?
15th, sorry!
Fair enough
Newcastle and Reading
Must be Wolves as one of them? Perhaps Ipswich as the other? I would think Millwall must also be right up there...
EDIT: Just seen Millwall were 9th!
Got them both! Well done!
Ipswich were 1st and Wolves were 5th.
Final guess before working through alphabetically
So Brighton or failing that Accrington…..
Keegan's Newcastle must be a good shout, or Fulham for that matter, have we had Wigan?

Not sure why they say since 3 points, as I am pretty sure that was later (could be wrong).

Could you post top ten for Lgs 1 and 2 please
League 1 other possibles: Walsall, Bristol Rovers, Gillingham
League Two other possibles: Scunthorpe, Carlisle
Surprised to see Shrewsbury spent so long in the second tier, I honestly had no idea
Sure!
League One:
League Two:
Darlington and Torquay were 2nd at the respective points they went out of the league.
I wonder where we would sit in league 1 points in the last 30 years?
