I live in Essex having left the town at the age 22, so literally only come back for Wycombe games and to see my Mother so difficult for me. In fact, I’m around the corner from Hornchurch so was going to give the lowdown on the best watering holes on the Kashket sponsorship before he moved on.
Having said that, the Mad Squirrel is a great venue and me and my brother drink there often when I come to AP. The Rose and Crown does amazing Guinness, that was a ‘no go’ pub when I was a teenager!
Still never been to the Flint. Don’t know why, back in the day on my taxi ride to the Orchard always used to say we should stop there, never did. Guess Spoons always won for the pre-load for obvious reasons.
Incidentally, I went to Bombay Palace on Crendon Street after the Northampton game and it was absolutely beautiful food.

Like others have offered before, I’d happily chip in a few quid each month for any server costs and to keep ads at bay.
The Gasroom is 99% of the time an oasis in an online desert of anger and noise. I really hope that @drcongo will find his mojo and keep things as they are, but he’s been very generous running the site for many years and we all need a break from things from time to time.

On this occasion I'm not sure all those people were standing out of choice, I had some issues with transport on the way and arrived just on kick off, by this time the stairs were wedged full and there was no chance of getting to my seat until half time. No help at all from the stewards and not very safe all round
Agree totally about the substanced up yoofs shouting at the opposition fans and not watching the game, really quite annoying , much of it seemed to be in my left ear, doubt the intended targets could even hear it.

Agreed. All well and good signing additional players pre any adjustments in spend rules. At least make sure the players signed are good enough though, especially when breaking transfer records for them.

The past week or so hasn't been the best but far from the worst in the Gasroom's long and turbulent history as a forum, I can understand if @drcongo, who's dedicated a lot of time and his own money in setting it up, finds it is more stress than it is worth.
I would be up for providing practical assistance or helping chip in to help keep this brilliant forum going while the rest of the internet becomes increasingly "enshittified" (to use the technical term).
