Gasroom Meetup
Would there be any interest in a meet up within the group? Perhaps this has been done before or maybe even already happens, but I just thought at the end of the day a bunch of supporters getting together for a chat about something we all have in common or even just other things might be a good social thing to do for some people. Appreciate it’s not for everyone of course. I’m happy to take a lead on it. First thing is a suitable preferred day of the week which I’ll poll, and then feel free to chip in with any recommendations for a pub.

I remember (or rather I don’t remember) the old Gasroom Piss Up in London about 25 years ago.
Let's do it.
Given the average age of the Gasroom, I'm surprised to see so many answering that they're flexible
Didn’t @bluntphil do a couple of meet ups somewhere around Baker Street a couple of seasons back?
I remember going to one near Farringdon in 2018ish
Around Farringdon way, had a few really good nights, kind of waned, partly due to the last one being around the same time one of our more antagonistic posters was on a mission.
What about at Met Bar at Baker Street for those London-based/or alternatively, the Flint Cottage?
For those going to Preston I recommend The Black Horse on Friargate. This is the pub featured in 'Fair Game (1994)' set during the 1970 World Cup. (Not seen Fair Game?..you are in for a treat!....can watch for free on YouTube. The opening scene alone is wondrous).
Whilst researching what the pub was I've just discovered that the lead actress Lena Heady later played Cersy Lannister in Game of Thrones. I've watched both numerous times and never realised this. Best day of my life outside football!
I’d rather be local to Wycombe personally, Flint would be my preference there
Has the Flint Cottage improved recently? Was absolutely awful last time I went a year or two ago - massively downhill from its Bootlegger days. Only place worth going in Wycombe these days imo is Heidrun.
As a supplement to the above we could potentially do a meet up prior to the last game of the season in the beer tent with a Gasroom team photo .
I’m a big fan of the flint. Have good tv screens, pool table and plenty of space. Decent pints and they’ve just got Guinness back on tap (in time for the 5 Nations).
its my pub of choice for a pint before the game if I don’t fancy freezing outside at the ground. (Park in the Totteridge Road Car Park for a two minute walk)
I'm sure ChatGPT/ DeepSeek will have no problem adding in those who can't make it in person.
Discussion about why Bloomfield left takes a terrible turn......
I live in Essex having left the town at the age 22, so literally only come back for Wycombe games and to see my Mother so difficult for me. In fact, I’m around the corner from Hornchurch so was going to give the lowdown on the best watering holes on the Kashket sponsorship before he moved on.
Having said that, the Mad Squirrel is a great venue and me and my brother drink there often when I come to AP. The Rose and Crown does amazing Guinness, that was a ‘no go’ pub when I was a teenager!
Still never been to the Flint. Don’t know why, back in the day on my taxi ride to the Orchard always used to say we should stop there, never did. Guess Spoons always won for the pre-load for obvious reasons.
Incidentally, I went to Bombay Palace on Crendon Street after the Northampton game and it was absolutely beautiful food.
The Flint is in one of its ‘down’ periods at the moment. There was no beer at all there before the Wigan game - just lager and Guinness
Thought this earlier, rarely seen a pub so up and down, great location whilst waiting for (and missing) trains. The Bootlegger period had some really good beer and lots of people at times but an unfortunate spell of banning football shirts, for decades it had been mostly quite dingy otherwise.
