I wouldn’t even expect selling a club you’ve bought in League One and now being in the Championship to make a significant profit. We were a loss making League One club when Couhig bought it and a loss making League One club when he sold it.
sadly we don’t know exact figures but Couhig’s argument in court is he made several million out of Wycombe therefore should be able to make a similar amount out of Reading. That argument must be backed up in fact in terms of court paperwork with more precise figures.
You'd imagine this has to be factual and provable in document form if he's using it in court!
It's not the "2nd to none match day experience", best burgers, new access road, new Marlow training ground, new stand and the short lived new items in the club shop stuff.
The biggest issue is Couhig has made an extensive amount of money out of football club - where realistically there is no money to be made out of - on broken promises.
He's not made an error. He expressed his main reason for buying Wycombe was to build a world class academy. With the amount of money he is supposed to be putting in the Academy over the next few years, the purchase price of the club was relatively unimportant.
Yea I’m only joking really, it’s fine. Just always found it funny it was marketed as world class or whatever. We also got the LCD screens I believe and some pitch renovations perhaps?
If people feel he pulled their pants down, imo, that’s only because they undid their belt, trouser button and zip before hand.
I’d argue there was just as much head in Sand going on than him just pulling pants down. Every thing he said he wanted to do (from day one) was to add value to the club so he could maximise sale price.
It could be argued that he fully intended to do what he promised (and I have no doubt he was trying to progress the access road etc) , however, ML saw the opportunity to buy before that was in place because it would be cheaper to buy the club at that point especially if they had/have little interest to complete the road etc, when they see the academy as a bigger net profit potential.
So the big question really is - if the Road access was at an advanced stage 12 months ago, wtf has ML eduard etc done about it? Because it seem to me that they are the ones dropping the ball on it and is something that has an affect on both Home and away fans every match day.
What was he actually purchasing for that huge amount of money, just simply overall control of the football club? because it wasn't the stadium or the training ground. Were the debts paid off as a result of that payment or was that on top of that amount?
There's nothing to worry about! An American millionaire buys a small football club and sometime later becomes best mates with a billionaire who he sells the club to. Both of them try to buy part of the next nearest football club but when that doesn't work out the millionaire tries to buy the entire thing. When that doesn't work out he acts like a shakedown artist which might lead to the entire club ceasing to exist. A large empty stadium and Cat 1 training academy would suddenly appear next door to us, with our billionaire owner dreaming of a large stadium and a Cat 1 Academy as part of his Kazakh plans.
The thing I suspect Rob will have in his back pocket, and it's only guesswork, but here goes...He likely has a prospective buyer or two lined up that are interested in Reading but just didn't want to deal with Dai and get messed about.

Depends on how much Lommy paid him.

Just realised twice i've pretty much echoed what @midlander said without first seeing he'd posted.
Darn slow internet!!
Then that’s Lomtadze who has made the error
Or the Trust. Or us as fans.

The people who warned us Couhig was a selfish business man out for himself seem most upset he was a selfish businessman out for himself.
I accept the loos, food and fireworks were crap but I had a good time watching the footballing when he was in charge and we did not do too badly.
Are you at AP? You know we don’t have a game right?

I'll be honest with you...
I'm not going to give my full opinion on this matter on here as Bobby may sue if I fart and it makes the wrong sound
The Internet always seems pretty good to me? Not like a lot of grounds where it's absolutely dead.
Floodlights (legally had to upgrade) and WiFi seem the 2 bits Couhig and gang did improve.
Nah, I'm just thinking "I TOLD YOU SO ALL ALONG" and getting on with my day.

head in Sands
The Couhig era was undeniably one of remarkable success. How much was down to him as owner is debatable.
Was it ever at an advanced stage?
I am led to understand Mikheil Lomtadze paid £12.4m to buy WWFC.
How much of early season success was down to Bloomfield and how much to LomRice?

Nothing can go wrong here.
I'd love ML to buy Reading, taking the alignment lads with him, and selling Wycombe to someone who then puts the following staff in place:
Director of Football: Gareth Ainsworth
Manager: Matt Bloomfield
Academy director: Richard Dobson
Head academy coach: Sam Grace
Assistant Academy coach: Jason McCarthy
Club ambassador: Adebayo Akinfenwa
Commercial director: Joe Jacobson
Chaplain: Alex Samuel
Director of Green Initiatives: David Wheeler
Kit designers: Kashket family
This is modern football isn't it? We got some memories that will keep us warm through the next lean spell, and Couhig got a chunk of change.
If any Wycombe fans believed for a minute that he was in it for any other reason, that's up to them.
Isn't it time to "Move On"?
FWIW the WiFi works very well for me at AP. Great to be able to access whilst the Frank Adams roof drips on me.
The thing I suspect Rob will have in his back pocket, and it's only guesswork, but here goes...He likely has a prospective buyer or two lined up that are interested in Reading but just didn't want to deal with Dai and get messed about.
Surely the kit designer should be Barry Richardson?
Love it!
Add in...
Buildings and Maintenance manager: Keith Ryan
Throw ins coach: Marcus Bean
Music Director: Gavin Holligan
Head of Film production: Jonny Dixon
Groundsman: Frank Talia
Touche!
