Nor would I, to be honest. Iâm always happy to share more personal stuff openly on the forum, within reason of course and keeping any off-piste posts to a minimum.
I would be only too happy to pay a regular (?monthly) subscription.
A bit late to the table but I would also like to add my thank you to @drcongo for running this forum so well for so many years.
I really hope an alternative option can be found because although I don't contribute as frequently as most, I do enjoy reading the posts and will definitely miss Gasroom if it has to go!
Another vote for subscription based option, if that's the way forward.
I've given it a lot of thought before answering this thread. After all, I only know a few of you personally, so why would I open my heart to you all?
I trust you all, and this platform brings us together. Gasroom is far more than just a regular fansite. The fact that I was able to bare my soul here when I couldn't on the message board of the club I grew up supporting proves this.
From where I'm standing, Gasroom is a valuable asset and needs to be enhanced and protected at all costs.
We might not all agree on the ins and outs of a football match, but that doesn't matter. On here we are all for one, and believe me, that is far more important.
Much love, Jeevesie (see you at the Lincoln City match)
Hello everyone. I am excited to announce that @OxfordBlue and I will be taking over as custodians of the Gasroom, following on from the fantastic work that @drcongo has done over the years. It has been already said in other threads but cannot be overstated - thank you @drcongo for all of your efforts in supporting the Gasroom community, it really is a shining example of what a football forum should be.Â
We are working hard to navigate challenges that have presented themselves to digital communities such as ours, please bear with us while we work through this. However, please be assured that we are doing everything we can in our ambition to keep the Gasroom alive and well for years to come.Â
The Gasroom 3.0 will be moving to a new forum platform, but will remain at the same gasroom.org web address. Our target transition date is 1st April, this version of the forum will remain live in the meantime. You can register your email address here to be notified of updates should that be of interest.Â
I have never owned a mobile so not qualified to comment on matters technological but if any of the collective brains trust can get a Gasroom 3.0 going I am all in.
Thanks to the peerless Dr Congo best of luck to Blue Quarters and Oxford Blue.
A very belated thank you to @drcongo for everything he has done to set-up and keep this place running for so long. Although I do not post very often (apart from the attendance and score predictions) I do try and follow the various threads - some with more interest than others!
Many thanks to @drcongo for his years of service to the Gasroom. It really is so much better from other clubs forums that I occasionally wander onto and that's a testament to both @drcongo and the users.
And thanks to @OxfordBlue for being good enough to take on the task of setting Gasroom v3!
No posts for three days then two people post at exactly the same time.
Hear hear to them both and to all the others who have acknowledged @drcongoâs gallantry (and thatâs not a reference to the late Bill Turnbullâs commentary perch).
