I've always thought they were keener for promotion next season. They got in their man and bought in a few players who wouldn't be fit and fighting until the summer.
I think this is rubbish tbh. Wrexham didn't look like more of a team than us. If Joe Low's header goes in, we're laughing about how limited, slow, and one-dimensional they are, not even giving it a go. They barely got anywhere near our penalty box all game.
We back project this type of thing based on the result
Of course Low should've scored the header, it was an absolute sitter and a huge error for a player of his quality, and you'd hope the result would've been different If he had.
If you don't think Wrexham wanted to win that more than us in the second half then I think you were watching a different game. I lost count of the amount of times that one of our players went softly into a challenge when the Wrexham player went in with conviction. McCleary and Onyedinma consistently losing the ball and being pushed off it with ease. Norris aimlessly hitting the ball long and throwing his arms around when a forward doesn't get anywhere near it (he absolutely needs dropping by the way, clearly doesn't care how his loan spell goes, probably just here to pick up appearance fees he was missing at Portsmouth). We came out after the stoppage with no game plan and no intention to wrestle the initiative. Ignoring that one corner immediately after the stoppage, that final 15-20 mins was appalling.
I might need to take a time out. I haven't been more frustrated by a Wycombe result in months.
I genuinely don't think they did. They were pretty appalling, and if they were winning every 50-50 ball (as you suggest) then they would have dominated the game. They clearly didn't. It was a 50-50 scrap. I think it's back projecting
Any 8 year old in the playground knows the urgency of next goal wins, or chasing an equaliser. To have the split CBs in conference with the goalie who can't kick very well late on was absurd.
I don't think you spend £2m in January if you've no interest in going up but we somehow have piddled it away and ended up where our record signings are limited to 10 minutes every fortnight and look like competition winners.
... and I've got a ticket for Rotherham in the cold on Tuesday night. Aren't I lucky.
I pretty strongly disagree with anything about one team wanting to win more than the other. Both teams want to win, but only one team can. There might be something tactically wrong but it would be very rare for a player not to completely want to win.
Fine. Maybe both teams wanted to win the same amount, but only one team seemed to come out after the stoppage with the appearance of a team who had a plan, or who had even discussed what was needed to win the game. They came out firing, we came out looking lethargic and half arsed. I'll return tomorrow after a cool down.
I take your point but I still think the eye is off the club and on the academy. Could focus on the club do anything directly? Probably not as far as changing tactics goes but indirectly? For all Rob C sometimes promised more than he delivered, he was here, his nephew was in the stands with the supporters and that passion rubbed off on the players. I have no sense that the Ricicles or ML feel passionately about the team and the players will know that. Of course they are professionals and go out to do a job but you know what, it’s nice to know the owner, the chief exec know your name and are actively behind you as opposed to seeing you as an asset with a value that can go up and down. Small things can make a deference between a team performing well and one with an edge. Wrexham, despite not being all that, have an edge and I think that comes from owners who, love them or hate them, are virtually kicking every ball.
I have said this before. We haven’t played well since Arron Morley went back to Bolton. I listened to Dan Rice recently and he was explaining the Data. What was the Data on Morley and why the F,,k didn’t we sign him. Regards
Pretty nothing sort of game until the medical emergency. No-one could deny it was about as even as it gets with barely a chance for either side.
Then Wrexham's players emerged a couple of mins before ours did, and looked to be doing a much busier warm up.
No idea if this made any difference, but we didn't look to have anything more to offer than long balls after.
Really damaging defeat, psychological blow being out of the top 2 for the first time in 5months, and now real pressure to win on Tuesday to reclaim 2nd.
We did have Kone out which was a huge blow, but you feel we need a real rethink attacking wise, as we've just gone stale
Ten huge games left to not let this season disintegrate.
Because the spectacular performances had dried up. Form had dropped, and we started struggling to win. We had a great run of form. But, we then were in a poor or average run of form.
We've been lucky that no other team had a good run, until Charlton who have 9 wins in 12, I think. They look favourites for 2nd.
why did no one tell Dan Rice to stick his data where the sun don’t shine. These characters have sucked the passion out of the club and turned it into some sort of dull grey corporate crap.

Anyone still doing #InDanWeTrust ?
I'm sure Dan and Eduard know what they're doing.

I’m sure Dan and Eduard, don’t give a damn about today’s result.
I’d like to see Franco get the gloves back. He had a MotM performance then got harshly dropped.
His distribution is so much better than Norris’s and it really set the tempo for our play.
At least Simons is available on Tuesday and hopefully Kone is feeling better.
Poor recruitment. What we needed was Aaron Morley, and a Sam Smith like player. Westergaard looked like a rabbit in headlights and Berry looked lazy.
If he plays like he did at Birmingham I’m not convinced he’ll add anything
Bloomfields last 9 games had 3 wins. Let's not get misty eyed, and forget what was going on. We weren't on a good run when he left.

And Norris isn’t on loan.
5 wins in our last 14 league games (since the start of 2025) by the way. That's the form of a team who will finish outside of the play offs.
Correct, but I think we would be playing better since he left and would have picked up more points
We were having a pretty spectacular season. Why do you choose to cut it off at 9 games?
Fine. I'm glad we don't lose very often.
I was watching a different game again. I thought it was harsh to lose that.
Wrexham weren't all that and they won't be in the automatics.🙂

If the documentary was scripted they’d fall just short and then get promoted through the playoffs.

What about the 16 matches before that?
It's worse from the start if December is think.
The last home league win on a Saturday came on 26th October. That's an insane stat to read in mid March for a team who have been so high for so long.
why did no one tell Dan Rice to stick his data where the sun don’t shine. These characters have sucked the passion out of the club and turned it into some sort of dull grey corporate crap.
But why choose nine specifically? It seems a strange number to pick when ten is right there.
Without checking, it'll clearly be because the 10th game back was a win. Not that 4 wins in 10 sounds brilliant either.
