I was surprised by the state of the pitch, considering it's been a few weeks since our last home game. That spate of home games in early Jan was clearly quite damaging.
I have reached a point where I don't bother with player or manager interviews. Apart from the odd (probably inaccurate) insight into the sort of person they may possibly be...often the content neither informs nor illuminates.
I have now listened to the interview on the site and have to say, he seemed to have measured thoughtful responses to Phil's questions. I don't find him to be any more stumbling or media untrained than anyone else I've heard. To be honest, he seemed to be a man in control.
In the 3CR interview, he sounded like he was a bit fed up of being asked the same question about Kone and just got it out the way quickly. Fair enough. I like him in general, and I hope the people writing him off at the weekend have reflected on how silly a snap judgment that was.
When it was clear Morley AND Taylor were off, there were some real gloomy scenes on here.
It sort of morphed into just missing Morley alone and when we re-signed Taylor there was almost a sort of it's good but not the real big signing we wanted.
But make no mistake, you don't have a player like Taylor and not play him.
It might be harsh on Bradley, but then it was a bit harsh on Rav to suddenly miss out. But both Taylor and Norris are clear steps up and it should be all about the team at the end of the day.
There's a few midweekers we can rotate it around a bit, or field Bradley when there's an especially rugged striker to deal with, but Taylor can deal with all sorts himself.
I think it's safe to say that, unlike perhaps Norris, Sonny knew he was here as a stopgap. He'll get a few games before now and the end of the season I reckon.
I can't remember anyone writing him off . I do remember many people bemoaning about the line up and lack of new additions . This I think was fair enough and I certainly stand by my comments about that. He looks nervous with the media stuff but that does not bother me . He doesn't start banging on about "pride" and blowing too much smoke up the fans arses . It's just no nonsense and he says it how it is . No issue with him at all and delighted that he changed the line up last night and could clearly see what most people could see with Saturdays dissapointment .
I agree and I don't mind his style at all . Nervous pulling of the earlobes scratching of the nose and the chin coming out actually makes me feel warm to him .
Most certainly, I enjoyed Doddsy's interview. He seems to articulate very well the small things he sees as a coach and ways players can improve. Hopefully it won't be soon, but it'll be interesting to see how he deals with poor performances - how will he cover for players? Will he be blunt and critical?
I didn't see that . I think a few thought his huggy first day meant he was too matey with them . The video does show him hugging a couple of the guys but I think these where the ones he already knew and had not seen for a while Labala being one example . He coached him as a young lad at Birmingham . I can understand the concern on that evidence alone but he has certainly come accross in interviews since as a man who will not take any shit hasnt he .....
His body language is pretty funny to be honest ! like I say it doesn't bother me . Like a few others have observed he appears to think about giving honest answers , considers the questions thoughfully and doesnt come out with any bull .
Before long you’ll realise that I’m only on here to collect the opinions of the Gasroom on a Matchday thread. That’s the real ‘data’ that the club is relying on

Hopefully Mikhael can use some petty cash to install a new pitch in the summer!

My thoughts too

Apologies, I meant to say 4am but I’m intrigued by your late night meals with the PM did he have a daal?

As Mike Dodds said in that interview, he's all about control.

"Dodds seems like a massive pushover. Not cut out for management."
That was one such take
And then there was all that nonsense about the hugging. Anyway, that seems to be behind us now.
That was before a win though. And from an analyst who discussed it extensively with his....group
Said group have had a reappraisal after last night's win and...he's alright again.
Oh oh.....that beard suggests he's evolving from 'tech bro' to 'Rasputin'.
Yes, I found that one a bit bizarre at the time.
To be fair, he got two games, someone wrote Sam Grace off after one...as caretaker.
As I am at work, I was just listening...so can't comment on body language. Like Nixon in the 1960 presidential debate he sounded fine to me.

So that's two posts then

Strings to gasroomers talents....body language analysis.
He could be squirming, insist on smashing his face into puddings and barking "rhubarb rhubarb" for all I care as long as the on pitch stuff is good.
Most certainly so
Are you.......Lommy?
Though I would undoubtedly find that far more entertaining than the usual website fare...it would in all honesty alarm me a bit.
Do you mind salad instead!
I can't get it out of my head. Last night I spent the whole game listening to a season ticket holder cheering on "Callum Humphreys".
"Go on Callum"
"Great goal Callum"
I mean - you've been going to every game, surely you know his name? It really winds me up so needed to get that off my chest.
Thank you for listening.
Rumbled.
