That’s what happens when you name a nonsensical 18 in the squad and then leave it until 80 mins before switching it up. Our best run of form coincided with 55-60 minute subs - why are we allowing 20 minute spells in the second half where we don’t even have a shot at goal and still making no subs? I know I’m reacting emotionally but it’s just utter nonsense. Why are 5+ top quality players not even in the squad and we’re bringing on Vokes and Kodua who are not League 2 automatic promotion standard let alone League 1. Harsh but true. Nuts.
Don't want to be a total Debbie Downer but that was a hugely disappointing afternoon.
Conservative line-up, useless long-ball football, sluggish start in the second half, late substitutions, Harvie seemingly instructed to never cross the half way line (such a waste of a talent).
Green shoots: Xavier looked clever in his fleeting appearance; return of Sam Vokes.
But overall I'm unimpressed with Mike Dodds's tenure. Lots and lots of time to work on it all but so far, nothing to suggest we've upgraded. To me, we've gone from Bloomfield's Rolls Royce football to Dodds's workmanlike, run-of-the-mill Toyota. Not the direction I hoped for us.
Well, after a week of looking forward to how we'd do after a full weeks training, that second half sounded a bit shit really.
Subs could have/should have been made on around 60 mins for me. No point giving people 10 or 15 mins to try and change a game that was there for the taking.
Draws Vs Northampton, Cambridge and Crawley in the last month or so now. Too many missed opportunities for points. We won't go up if we can't beat teams like those.
Simons miles ahead of Leahy and proven with just 8 minutes of game time. He has to start.
Very harsh, very early, but there's a point in there, if you're prioritising continuing the form and going up I think you get someone in short term maybe who has done that before. If you are concentrating on the youth team and academy you get a youth coach in. I really hope we see some of the new guys and an identity soon, no reason to expect we won't. You can't expect him to come in and copy Blooms notes, selection, training etc.
I mentioned it before the game but we desperately need Grimmer or Pattenden back. Skura is a great young prospect at CB but is not a top half league one full back. Too many moves broke down on his side, while he doesn't have the dynamism to push forward.
I agree with this . It only confuses me even more as to why we started with the eleven we did today though . We desperately needed to freshen up . Did so ,then we don't play them .
Yep, we shouldn't make the mistake of saying we were playing champagne football and battering everyone in the latter days of the Bloomy run. The goal wheels had definitely slowed down, with a couple of away game exceptions.
Only 2 games in under the new mana...sorry head coach.
I believe the accepted time to panic is after a 3rd game. So see you back here late Tue.
Only if we go back to the kind of slick passing football that we enjoyed under Matt Bloomfield. Crawley were much more physically aggressive than I remember them but l’m far from convinced that we weren’t the initiators in that respect. We were helter skelter ganging up aggressively against their midfield from the start.
Hard to believe that the substitutions were left so late. Not sure that Sam Vokes brief appearance qualifies as a green shoot and to describe Gideon Kodua as not being League 2 promotion standard is nonsense. He has shown loads of potential in his few cameo appearances and deserved to get far more than 10 minutes. Fred was getting nowhere.
That looked a sad shadow of the personnel and performances that took us to the top. Very discouraging but let’s hope Mike Dodds is a quick learner.

Simons to be the new Morley?
Kodua is a great player
That was about as entertaining as watching a smarmy smug-faced prick play Championship Manager.
Orient are 10 points behind us, and their next 3 are all away. Wrexham, Bolton, Birmingham.
If they go past us they'll certainly be deserving of going up!
We haven't won 2 league games in a row since November. None of these results are surprising, or anything to do with the new head coach
Yes, we'd already hit a bit of a lull late on with Bloomy but mostly at home. We were still putting teams away, away!
Next 4 games have 3 very winnable homes though, so need to get back on it asap.
Can't imagine Kone will be back for Tue, so have to hope we get a better gameplan for then and hope Kone isn't too far off after.

I always suspected you were hacking my laptop.
Hire a #2, play like #2.
Don't start all this nonsense again lads
He definitely looks the closest to Morley out of all the options we have.
Bloomfield's Rolls Royce football
Bloomfield at Luton
Well, hopefully Dan Rice is not immune from the sack if the wheels continue to fall off.
At least we would have data on railroading a manager out of town who has us top and scoring 2+ every game.
🥱
Here we go again...
Oh sorry - it's only Mr. Wycombe we are allowed to mock.

Exeter away, 2-2 we had 2 wins in 5 after that. Currently have 2 wins in 5. We had stopped putting teams away towards the end of the year.

Big week ahead. 6 points at AP needed.

Not at all, Shev. It's just coming across as deliberate baiting from you. It's not a good look.

Your posts are just getting a bit repetitive and boring post Blooms. Life moves on.

Agree . Leahy has been the biggest culprit of this for ages .
Thankfully I literally don't care what I look like to some random online.
Leave a bad Yelp review. I'll get over it.
