And later joined the exclusive 'Played for both WWFCs' club. Can probably make a whole 11 out of that: Norris, Williamson, Johnson, Hause, Campbell, Vokes...
Whenever I see posts about the Selhurst Park Alan Smith I’m reminded of an amusing exchange when he addressed the players for the first time, boasting that he’d taken Palace right up to Premier League. Apparently, Simon Garner responded with “and brought them straight back down again”. And I bet he didn’t say it sotto voce !
I wonder where this leaves Vokes. I was hoping he would join the management team to keep an element of continuity. Assume Sam Grace goes back to his normal role.
Shuttleworth has had an interesting career path. Started off at Nottingham Forests centre of excellence when Cloughie was there and he was a ‘young man’. A lot of the word analyst in there. Worth a read

How could you miss out Cyrille Regis?
Dammit, I knew that as well! WBA, Wolves, Villa and Cov
He left us 7 years ago and is fast approaching being Sunderland’s 20th highest appearance maker.
He is contracted until June 2026 and as Captain he will not doubt stay with them next season if they go up or don’t.
I think Sunderland is more home to him than Wycombe. I never thought he would do so well up there, so credit to him, his hard work and tenacity.
Nah. He 100% deserves a shot at the PL.

New BBC interview with Mike Dodds...

Mike Dodds to Spurs?
Excellent interview. Putting data into perspective; 'it's still a human making the final decisions'.
Welcome to the greatest football club in the land Mike Dodds.
Wycombe will win a major trophy before Spurs at this rate
I learn today his full name is Mike Smith Thomson Dodds, which makes him sound like a retired major in an Agatha Christie.
First in the queue at the surname shop and got himself a few spares.
Interesting conjecture by Sunderland Head Coach about possible ways to compensate for the loss of Mike Dodds.

Tom Hounsell and Pete Shuttleworth join as first team coaches.
Peter 'John' Shuttleworth.
Doesn’t he fall under the banner of “Wayne Rooneys Peter Shuttleworth” having worked with him at Plymouth and DC United?
Correct. And Derby. And Birmingham.
He was scapegoat for Rooney at Plymouth sacked three weeks before Wayne ultimately was.
Hopefully he didn't learn too much from Rooney!
Slightly more positive spin..
