Think I mentioned it before, but i have mused that the contract extension was more in recognition of his squad status - I.e. he was originally talked of/signed as a member of thr development squad.
But with the number of appearances and goals/performances it triggered a new deal that recognised him as a first team player and came with an additional year and (likely) wage rise that comes with being a first team player.
Or at least that’s how I’d structure a deal with a player coming from non league that we think might be good but is still a bit of a risk and gives him an incentive to push on.
JUST IN: Luton have launched a FIFTH bid for Wycombe talisman, Richard Kone, for around £10m.
The Buckinghamshire club are set to turn this down, after receiving a high bid from Sunderland, worth a reported £13.5m. The Ivorian is currently on the M6 heading North.
Oh yes “I’m a super agent, I’ve got loads of work to do on my busiest day of the year. I know, I’ll set up a Twitter account so I can keep the world informed.”

bid rejected (again) - presuming “next June” means 2026?
Yes June 2026, guess the recent new contract was just an automatic contact extension based on appearances.
That'll be our victory lap.

To summarize the online debate over Kone:
People who have not seen Kone play: "7m? You are having a laugh! He is not worth anywhere near that!"
People who have seen Kone play: "7m? You are having a laugh! He'll be worth at least 10m in the summer!"
Excellent 😁
That says Kone has refused to sign a contract extension which is bollocks and he wants to play in The Championship with Wycombe.
Richard Kone rumours seem to be thin on the ground today. Just another 5hrs 30mins before we are clear for another 4 months.
I think we're safe. They're not gonna let him go this late in the window unless they want to start an actual riot.
Incidentally, how is there not a Richard Kone song to the general theme of the Hokey Cokey? Ohhhh, the Richard Kone, rah, rah, rah etc …

I'm sure somebody called The Secret Transfer Agent is never wrong
Yes but this account has 34 followers!
They are all ITK
Can we not post stuff on this thread, as it makes me think there must be some news.
And this is a day when no news is definitely good news, in relation to RK.
Edit: Damn I just posted on this thread.
And account only set up three hours ago
Would seem that either The Secret Transfer Agent or Richard Kone has a faulty Sat-Nav. M6??
The M6 isn’t gong to take him anywhere near Sunderland, lol.
I'm beginning to doubt that The Secret Transfer Agent is ITK
Thats why its a secret transfer agent account I assume.

Proving how hush hush this move is.....
If Richard Kone is to be heading anywhere, the first leg of his journey will be by chairlift. BWK.
Could cut across the A69 at Carlisle
He could pick up Mike Williamson en route.
