Just returned to the room to see how well you boys and girls are behaving. My evening has been pleasant and certainly not ruined at this late hour by two basic spelling errors.
The past tense of the verb to lead is led. The past tense of the verb to read is read.. The confusion is therefore understandable.
When you’re defeated in a match you lose. You don’t loose it. I’m a Maidstonian by birth and upbringing and there is a village just outside the town called Loose but it’s pronounced lose (or it was 70 years ago).
Morley gelled the team together , it’s the one position we need to replace ideally with Morley we can only pray. I personally believe we will be promoted in the top two , when players come back and the new players are playing regularly we will kick on . Bloomfield has gone rightly or wrongly , let’s move on and get behind the new manager.
Just looked at Cambridge equaliser again. Not only a clear elbow by Stokes on Scowen face/neck which sent him flying but if you play by ref’s rules that’s a red card too.
Given the way we have played all season, having no full backs (Leahy does a job but not the same as harvie) providing width and late overlaps, we really are needing magic from the wide front men when attacking.
As much as I would love Morley (or a Morley like player) in, I feel like we ok in the centre of the pitch and I’m hoping for at least one full back to come into the club before the end of tomorrow to provide the width.
Yes. I do remember this from the live game: I haven't yet wanted to watch the game back yet.
I remember Josh going flying and then appealing and Josh doesn't do that often. I have a memory of a lot of whistle in the first 30 mins and think that if that had happened at the beginning of the game that would have been a foul and a booking. That inconsistency does give some justification for the chants about the nature of the ref at the end of the game.
Still - no shame in a draw there in the circumstances.
With a bit of distance between watching the game from away terrace (with pretty much the same view as the main TV camera), the penalty given for the Bradley incident may be less of an injustice having then also had the benefit of the reverse angle from behind the goal. The red card is more dubious, but it's always a possibility if an arm goes up.
The red card was the key decision for me, if we conceded the penalty (edit - and Cambridge scored) but still had 11 I would have heavily backed us it get a winner. Cambridge did well to press home their one (or maybe two man advantage if you factor in a compliant referee) advantage, but they'd be kidding themselves if they thought they'd have got anything from the game 11v11.
On another point, if our fans could sing the usual songs with the same gusto as the riproaring rendition of "Shit Referee", the atmosphere would be electric every week.
Yeah, And if Franco is injuried, we're short in goal...
With the players in the squad we have currently, we have options in the middle of the park be it Bakinson, Leahy, Westergaard, even Humpries dropping back (although I agree that would be a waste of his tallent). We have numbers there if needed.
Right now, we have a Young Prospect centre back having to do a job at RB and Leahy - who is decent but doesn't have the attacking and pace prowess to get forward regularly to support the forward line. If we can't get some width overlapping, teams just need to stifle the middle, and our attacking options start to falter
It’s a nonsense penalty to give and a ridiculous red card. It is pretty easy to stand behind someone and walk into a raised arm, you can see them and they can’t see you, moreover they are distracted by their attempt to win the ball - that doesn’t make it a foul.
Talking of crowd songs can I make a plea for no more intra-game choruses of "we are top of the league", "we're Wycombe Wanderers, we're top of the league" etc?
Just tempts fate and seems to always come back to bite us
Wouldn't say the Cambridge fans looked that incensed initially. Certainly one you can't get away with in the VAT world, silly from Sonny, but 9/10 the ref doesn't give it
I think it’s fairly obvious. We don’t currently have a defensive midfielder and we are light in numbers in central midfield overall. We wouldn’t have allowed Butcher to leave if another midfielder wasn’t coming in.
(I don’t have any knowledge on the midfielder/midfielders in question but we’ve been linked with Dan Barlaser)

I thought that at the time but having seen the replay I’m not so sure.

I love you @micra

It is still pronounced Lose, it's where I live
We're short in midfield. If Scowen gets injured who do you replace him with?
New defensive midfielder who will be signed tomorrow.
Westergaard
He’s a way off. Was caught game watching a few times and physically looked half a yard off the pace.
He was probably enjoying his end of season break when he got signed so it’s not a surprise.

Sam Grace has said we will look at appealing the red card and rightly so,the ref should be embarrassed for being conned so easily.
The biggest telltale sign for me was that Bradley didn't protest, just walked straight off
That’s not a tell tale sign. That’s not wanting to get into further trouble. What can he do? Meantime his team mates all went fucking mental.
Wouldn't say the Cambridge fans looked that incensed initially. Certainly one you can't get away with in the VAT world, silly from Sonny, but 9/10 the ref doesn't give it
But it wasn't a "clear and obvious" error
Maybe Messi can put him in touch with his tax lawyer
It was certainly a 'value added' decision for Cambridge.
You've said this a few times, are you saying it's happening? Or just hoping.

Let's hope for a decent present then. Although i think I saw Butcher has only started 3 league games this season, so not much output to replace.
If Hartridge is out any sort of time, Leahy ceases to be a midfield option which would stretch the numbers there.
Hartridge is out for the rest of the season
on loan at Exeter
Whoops...Harvie!
Literally the only comparison between those 2 at left back is the Har!
