As a sponsor of Butch’s training top I had the pleasure of sitting with him (boring him) for the sponsors meal last year. He is a lovely bloke who is down to earth and a perfect fit to the Wycombe family. I wish him all the best and hopefully I’ll see him for that final picture (in the last one, to remind me how old I am, my mate said I looked like a proud father!!!)
I started off last season sponsoring Kian B, and unfortunately that did not work out for him (I hope he does well at Crewe). They then helped me in the media team and moved me to Butch. Good times and he had the same number as Kian.
Not sure on this one as Butch is still a Wycombe player, so I’ll wait and see. If I remain with Butch I’m not to fussed as he’s a good bloke and I’ve already had the pleasure of boring him again at the squad photo day. Plus at some point I’ll get his training top
I must have had my head in the sand as I logged in this morning fully expecting a load of transfer activity across the whole footballing community and some last minute angst regarding Kone. Seems that the transfer window is not the end of the month anymore but early February. When did that happen? Also, seems that everyone is holding a different window too, the Saudis end today, the women was yesterday, the men's game in England on 3rd February. Does everything need to be so disjointed? Is it some gimmick which is to someone's/everyone's advantage. I just don't get it at all.
We would only be allowed to sign someone from there if they qualify for a work permit! And I'm not sure it's in Wheeler's interest to keep jetting over to the Americas to get a transfer......
Not a big surprise. Kone will want to review his position in the summer in the same way the club will. That may be the deal...get us over the line and we'll take the biggest offer...or he may decide he wants to stay with us in the Championship. All good.

How does sponsorship work when a player leaves mid season?
Is that just in the terms as a risk you take, or do you get a refund?
I suppose at least with the transfer windows you'll get half a season guaranteed in general.

He is, or at least was
Scored plenty of goals in the premier league, transferred for huge money, played international football and scored there as well
Who are you judging him against exactly?
On his day he was more or less unplayable
Kian B as been recalled to Man City due to "lack of opportunities". Do you think the penny is going to drop with them that he's not going to cut it?
Sadly one of three pretty poor loan signings in that window.
Breckin, Phillips and I forget the other one?
Boyes

I think it’s been moved to Monday as no one wants to be working late on a Friday night … especially the day before a match.
(quite why the window shuts at 11pm rather than 5pm I don’t know).
I assumed it had something to do with January 31 being a Friday.
Is the 11pm closure not to do with time zones? If you're signing players from the Americas, for example.

I suspect the 11pm deadline allows Sky to fill their schedule with a full day of breathless excitement.
Yep, like everything else it’s driven by tv scheduling
Yes those three were not really that good but Potts, Taylor and Lonwijk were excellent.
I thought that of the three mentioned, Boyes was promising.
Boyes showed potential, it was just a shame that the formation that got the best out of him was the worst for the team's performance
Reports now saying we have turned down the latest offer but interestingly that Kone has also turned down multiple contract extensions.
Didn’t we also sign a full back that never played - Saxon something?

Saxon Earley from Plymouth. Injured in training, never played and sent him back.
