  • Unless Steve Gritt wants to get back into the game...

  • Or Stephen Gregory followed by the lesser known Stuart Green

  • Selena Gomez

  • My favourite ever Wycombe player, i'm on board.

  • Stuart f###1ng Green good lord I thought I’d forgotten about him forever

  • Sir Guardiola?

  • Simon & Garfunkel?

  • Although there wouldn't be much noise from the terrace with them in charge

  • We're getting a head coach so that's gone tits up anyway

  • "Hello darkness my old friend" just feels like a Bristol Rovers line, anyway.

Seeing his name just now made me think it's interesting that no-one has mentioned the experienced management team of Gupps (with his international coaching experience) and Gary Smith. Probably not considered to have enough 'higher level' experience, I guess. And too 'old school...'? Having light and dark blue blood running through your veins isn't a tick box anymore - as we know.

Anyway, I lost track of them since they left Nashville... but had more than a soft spot for both of them as WWFC players, of course.

  • As somebody once observed, when the media ask a question the answer is always 'No'

  • Steffi Graff hasn't done much since giving up tennis. Waiting for a good coaching opportunity?

Or perhaps Steve Guttenberg? He was once involved with a fairly successful academy.

  • Guttenberg

A positive marzipan orgy between ten people

  • I wonder how attractive the job is.

There aren't many manager jobs so there are usually plenty of people sniffing round, I'm sure the salary will be decent and there is a very good squad of players with a chance of promotion.

But...There is the whole area of someone else having already spent the transfer budget and little scope to add to (or not pick) those players. I wonder also if some managers won't want to come in and risk being seen to have been responsible for a collapse if they can't keep up unexpected form, and then realistically if they do take us up would that be seen as their achievement or Blooms, and would that be enough to guard them against being fired if we have no points after 6 or 7 games in a higher division.

I guess we might go down the route of someone who has been a development coach at a bigger club who wouldn't be used to dealing with transfers anyway, or maybe someone completely random will want the challenge.

  • Cheer up lad!

    We're gonna win the Cup!

  • Front-runner on Paddy Power is now the former presenter of Going Live and three-time winner of the SOS award for ‘Best Female on TV' Sarah Greene.

  • this chat has just turned silly

  • Simon Grayson maybe.

A real shame we have missed out on Schumacher as he was the outstanding candidate.

I think next best would be Rob Edwards, done well with Luton until this season and seems like a decent bloke. Important to carry on with the ethos after diamonds in Blooms and Gaz.

  • The club have gone into radio silence about this ‘appointment’ now. Have they mentioned lovely man Sammy G is taking the team this weekend or until further notice? It would be good to get a rough timeline otherwise it’s detrimental to everyone involved. Goodwill and spirit has got us a long way but I fear it will dwindle if we don’t have a robust plan around leadership pretty damn soon.

  • The BFP have published a full page (almost) on Lee Johnson ...

  • Sounds to me, from his interviews that SG is taking it one game at a time but As long as he is winning games, I think it gives the board more time to find “the one”.

That said, many people seemed to lose their collective shit after one average game and result against Northampton so I can only imagine what it would be like if we lose to Cambridge.

  • We had our chance, the Bolton job wasn't available when Bloomfield left.

Maybe I'm biased but I believe he'll do a great job at Bolton.

  • Just watched the Inside Training: Cambridge Prep youtube video and saw Vokes like this

Is it me or is that a manager type look that he's giving there to players as they come into the briefing?

  • Dean Holden has just taken an assistant manager role in Turkey so that rules him out.

  • Just give it to Grace and Vokes until the end of the season. They have steadied the ship and the players love them. Sam Vokes has so much experience in the game and both know the Wycombe culture. A new manager now might just disrupt everything we have achieved with this superb group of players.

    Sam squared for me!!!!!!

  • You say we had our chance but you don’t know if we were even interested in him and if we were he could have turned us down. A big club with Bolton’s potential is an obvious attraction for a guy who lives only an hour away.

  • The new guy knows full well that we’ll be favourites for relegation next season and we’ll be in a relegation battle from the opening day of the season, assuming we even go up in the first place.
