Getting an alignment of approach between the Head Coach and the individual coaches for whatever number of different age groups there’ll be in the early stages of the academy sounds like a Herculean challenge.
I just wanted to say what a lovely chap Sam Grace is. I shouted a few words of encouragement towards his direction prior to the game on Saturday and he had a brief chat. A really down to earth and humble chap and a true Chairboy to boot.
Sam along with Sam Vokes deserve a lot of credit for keeping us moving forward during this time of transition at our club.
I hadn't realised there was a WWFC Friends FB group - I'll think I'll switch to it, and ditch the Fans group! And apologies accepted, from a longstanding female follower of the Gasroom!!
Give it to Sam and Sam until the end of the season. They know the players, they know the system we have been playing and they are connected to the academy as well.
My main concern about Sam Grace is he seems a very gentle, quiet-spoken character, and management is a hard-nosed business. Having to tell veteran players they are not in the team or squad, motivating and driving players towards a vision, etc. It's really difficult to say for sure if he has the right personality, even though I think everyone is unanimous about him being a lovely bloke.
This is no disrespect to Sam Grace, but I only see him as an excellent youth / U21 manager because I think he has the personality to nurture and get more out of someone who is developing their skills rather than driving 1st teamers to achieve more and make his feelings known when they haven't met that standard.
Really not sure why you would want Grace till the end of the season. He’s Wycombe through and through and a decent guy but I think the pros stop there.
Exactly, and I think the quality that has come through the development programme (Mehmeti, Forino, Pattenden...) would suggest he's very good at that role.
We need someone to galvanise this team and get them over the line to promotion. Sam is obviously part of the new culture and it's great to have him at the club, but he is a stop-gap and despite his unbeaten run, I'm not sure he's the one to push the first team on.
If we are going to pick a 'name' League manager, it's much harder than a foreign coach being given the job, as most have had peaks and troughs (who would have thought we would be challenging for the title under Blooms?) and someone who was a success elsewhere might be a disaster here (eg Gaz to QPR) and vice versa.
If people like Johnson and Evatt always end up blaming other people..that might not go down well with the people they will end up blaming!
it would be nice to hear from the club on what is happening with the head coach situation, Grace seems like a top man but we need to win games and if Saturday was a HUGE opportunity missed , if the club are serious about promoting then they need to act and act quickly....these 2 home games are not a free hit....and announcement should be made even if the new head coach just watches from the stands tomorrow
If you are going to the game tomorrow and sit in the Origin or Frank Adams Stands, take some binoculars and see if anyone of note is sat in the directors seats in the Origin Stand or in the Boxes of Frank Adams

That's why we really need Lee Carsley, but unfortunately I think there's more chance of you running the London Marathon!

Make sure you stay with us though @adamspark 👍.
Lee Johnson hits 1/2 favourite.
Please god no
Surely not, even worse than Evatt.
I wouldn't go that far! But he doesn't come across great at times.
I think we've got to show more ambition than that
Obviously nobody of any ability wants the job!

And they haven't been sacked numerous times.

Saturday was evidence that that shouldn't happen. And it won't - I expect we'll announce someone very soon.

I've never met him but that's what I see from him

I didn't either ! I might just do the same
Thank you for accepting my apology, I'll be more inclusive in my group messages in the future
Surely Schumacher would be better than Johnson and Evatt !?? Unless he's said no
Also, not keen on Grace getting the gig, for no other reason that I remember Neil Smillie, and i don't want that to happen to him.
I'm hoping there's substance to the rumoured FA approach. Dan Rice did used to work for the FA.

Schumacher seems fairly odds on for the Bolton job.
Sam Allardyce seems to be in the frame for a return to Bolton.
Big Sam ruled himself out last week: https://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/sport/24880880.bolton-wanderers-legend-sam-allardyce-not-eyeing-manager-job/
Please 🙏

I know we all want it resolved but I would prefer to get the right man rather than just acting quickly. However, if we can achieve both, then fine.
