How on earth are we going to cram all these new players into our team? I suppose the formation will depend on whoever the next head coach is (or perhaps what chat gpt suggests) but I wonder if we start thinking about a 541 with a diamond midfield:
Ravizzoli
Grimmer Low Hagelskjær Bradley Harvie
Westergaard
Lowry Berry
Humphreys
Kone
And that team doesn't even include Scowen or Fred!! Maybe Fred goes back to right wing back, like during the Championship season?
We can definitely rotate really well now! Even with Sads out, Berry should be an able left-sided wide player. We should be able to see strong 90 minutes without missing a beat, and also rotate from Sat-Tues without a problem.
The weird thing about this season is that if we get promoted, it no longer feels "against the odds". Nothing wrong with that, and we all saw it coming eventually, but there are no excuses now (apart from the extended efforts to get Scandanavian wonder-coach in).
I’m beginning to feel that we’re building for next season already while going in for promotion this year.
You take the players we have on loan out of the side, those whose contracts are ending and some whose ages aren’t getting younger and these new permanent signings start filling those spaces.
On paper all of them are very good league 1 players if we stay in league 1, or should do a job in the championship.
Fred played left wingback during the Championship season with (ironically) Jason McCarthy on the right. Not necessarily the whole season of course but certainly at least towards the end. I have an abiding memory of Fred falling on top of a prostrate Harry Kane on the touchline in front of the main stand and getting up with a big smile on his face.
If we don't get promoted it will be very disappointing, we have been flying since the third game of the season, and have now strengthened the squad beyond out wildest dreams. I never thought I'd say this, but I am expecting Wycombe to get promoted to The Championship. Strange times.
agree with back 5 but no way would i start Leahy or Bez ....replace Bez with new Bez and Leahy with Westergaard...Leahy good squad player but not starter imo
Anders has only played in three matches since late August before he joined us but we are short of defensive cover so he's in.
Magnus played three times for Viborg in the first half of December, interestingly his last game in the league was against Randers who's manager looks like he might join us. The Danish Superliga has a winter break from Dec 2nd to Feb 14th which is why Magnus has not played in the league since Dec 1st. His two other games were in the Danish Cup on Dec 8th and 13th over two legs, they won 6-1 and are through to the semi-final against Copenhagen.
Unless Low is staying in which case Skura moves to the bench and Anders can probably spend a few weeks getting fit with a few sub appearances where needed.
I think we will see a few leave (either on loan or permanently).
Vokes (coaching pathway? Blighted by injuries)
Hanlan (likable but inconsistent). Loan move and first team football would be good for him.
Taff (same as Vokes but don’t think we would keep on as a coach)
Butcher (we seem overloaded with players in his position now)
Alex Hartridge (don’t rate him - seems prone to errors)
David Wheeler - (suspect at some point he will want more game time and I still think he has a lot to offer. Could be a magnificent player for a L2 club on the promotion push.)
Lowe and Kone will continue to be transfer risks until the window closes. Financially we don’t need to sell but at what point does money talk??
I just wish we’d put our hands in our pockets and given Bolton a whatever they wanted for Morley
Rangers withdrew the B Team from the Lowland League and no longer play in any type of league.
Rangers B only play in Cup games or meaningless games like the Glasgow Cup which is effectively two rounds and then a Final between Rangers and Celtic. They also play friendlies.
Looking at the Rangers B team page he has not played a Cup game or friendly since September when he last played in the Challenge Cup against Fraserburgh of the Highland League.

Well I know that's not true as I just red the first page.
Anyway Berry just signed so ....
If not to stay with Wycombe, then The King deserves far better than Hull or Luton

I don’t Lowry will be match fit for a while - very few games played this season

If the data is correct, of course!

Was Fred not left wing back, for starters?
And we're surely not dropping Scowen or ditching wide forwards.
He was, as I mentioned in my post at 12.41 am, a post which attracted someone’s disapproval for some unfathomable reason.
Here’s an updated squad list. Maximum you can have is 22.
Danny Imray is U21 this season.

The dastard, leave my Micra alone!
I did wonder what was ironic about McCarthy playing on the right, but I kept that to myself.
If his name was McLefty maybe.
Why the heck would we go to 5 at the back with a holding MF in front? It'll be the same system with even more relent at our disposal.
A back 3 would solve the conundrum of who to leave out of 420k newbie, Bradley and Lowe, but utterly leaves a huge amount of attackers redundant.
Plus Berry is a wide player so wouldn't suit him playing central either.
I would stick with 4-2-3-1 and our new signings need to prove themselves.
Rav
Grimmer/Kodua, Low, Sonny, Harvie
Scowen, Leahy
Fred, Humphries, Lubala
Kone
Subs - Bishop, Hagelskjaer, Berry, McCleary, Bakinson, Westergaard, Udoh
Skura and Butcher to drop out from Mansfield
Lowry having not played a game for over a year and only just signed would not make the bench.

I would go:-
Rav
Grimmer/ Kodua, Low, Sonny, Harvie.
Scowen, Westergaard
Fred, Humphreys, Berry.
Kone.
Subs:- Leahy, Bishop, Hagelskjaer, McCleary, Udoh, Lubala, Butcher.
This 👍
Not sure Westergaard will be fit enough to start games yet. I suspect will get 20/30 mins in both the next 2 games.
I think Berry will start on Saturday though.

He sounds like a ‘proper’ player, get him in for Saturday along with Berry.
Same for me, except Bishop in goal.
Unless Low is staying in which case Skura moves to the bench and Anders can probably spend a few weeks getting fit with a few sub appearances where needed.
Lowry hasn't just come in to hang around the fringes - I expect he'll be straight into the squad too
Possibly but having not played for a year I would give it to Bakinson this week.
He's been playing for their B team, hasn't he? Sounds like he was out of favour more than anything.
We definately have too many players now.
I think we will see a few leave (either on loan or permanently).
Vokes (coaching pathway? Blighted by injuries)

In which case he probably needs a couple of weeks to get up to speed, but he definitely profiles as a signing made with the first team in mind
