That Fleetwood side won 10 games in 46; he won 6 of them in 22 games, so it was a bad squad, and he did better than the other two managers there that season (not saying he did well, just saying it was a crap squad and no one was keeping them up).
I have come around to seeing this as all on Blooms, leaving us in the lurch. I now realize that:
The club accidentally kept sacking those closest to Blooms, even before the season started. They actually meant to give them pay raises.
Dan Rice genuinely forgot Matt Bloomfield's name when he insisted on calling him "the manager" in interviews. It was on the tip of his tongue the whole time!
When Dan Rice extolled the club after the Aston Villa game, he meant to actually congratulate Blooms and the players on the performance, rather than a throwaway "on and off the pitch" comment as part of a larger generic speech.
The club had a fat extension for Blooms prepared once they saw him overachieving, but the dog ate it. Once they re-printed it and posted it, it got lost in the mail.
There was literally nothing else the club could have done, and they are gutted that Blooms chose to leave them in the lurch!
Sadly, Blooms leaving will always be a bone of contention now when it comes up. That might be what upsets me the most - 22 years and he gets a minute and a half video and half the fanbase thinking he betrayed us.
To be fair, I doubt the Gasroom and Facebook constitute half the fanbase even if half agreed on the one opinion. Most people around me at games look at neither. (Though that could be their eyesight...)
Anyone who genuinely believes Matt Bloomfield betrayed us is as thick as pig shit. There's a lot of people who don't want to believe what's staring them in the face right now. The truth will out. It always does.
Surely under the this is a business and there is no room for sentiment in football rule, you cannot blame Bloomfield for trying and actually selling him would be down to the data driven business model led by Dan Rice?
He can't possibly be both a forward thinking football expert, meticulously planning ahead and getting rid of an irritant to his regime (as is his right) and also an idiot who keeps getting knocked sideways by events, can he?

No no no
Why not? Got a pretty good L1 record (better than Martin's over a bigger sample size)
He's 25/1 on BetVictor if anyone fancies a flutter on him
All three of them?!
He's bombed in his last two jobs
And there are just so many much more exciting options out there
You sound too much like Maggie for my liking 🤭
Wouldn’t be my personal choice but to have managed over 500 professional games at the age of only 43 is pretty staggering (at least it was to me)…
I'm afraid that's gone over my head 😅

I think we can set our sights higher. It's got to be an extremely attractive job right now.
If it's not rocket silence please do feel free to explain it.

Probably just as well. Not very nice.
I think we need a new manager ASAP just to stop this forum going around and round and round...
As if we won't then go round and round about whether it's a good appointment, who we should have had instead, when Dan Rice first approached him.

Could we be the first club managed by an AI Bot? That could be the big reveal...
Though the scenes when it analyzes all football matches, ever, and bleeps "You know what? Possession can do one."

Surely if it's already staring us in the face, the truth doesn't need to out 🤔
Blooms leaving might really get to be contentious.
exactly ...Blooms not being very respectable is he ?! can he not just bid for leahy ?!!
No clause preventing a January raid then 🙃
It might not be what you think @glasshalfempty my friend.
"A lie can travel half way around the world while the truth is putting on its shoes" as someone before Mark Twain once said.
That suggests they're looking at something else.
You’re absolutely correct, the people I see at games look blankly when I talk about Gasroom shenanigans.
btw has anyone else here scratched their iris, if you want my advice, don’t it’s not as much fun as it sounds.
We won't sell Kone, but if we do, that's on us!
