As you stated in an earlier post it was Matt who chose to leave (to a club in a higher division) which suggests that one of the factors in his decision was that his vision of how team affairs should be handled might not have aligned with the views of the owners. It doesn’t mean that either party was right or wrong, just that they had different opinions.
Agreed until you start to see some very low odds. I did consider a small bet on Rooney to see the meltdown on FB when his odds dropped but decided against it in case it planted the seed. Surely it won’t be Rooney, right?
I don't think there is any point looking at previous records with regard to style as the new coach or worry about not getting on with owners as he will have to adapt to the players he has been given and if he's unemployed and they are paying well they will come. Anyone who doesn't screw up being second in the League with our most expensive group of players will do for me. We can dump him ten games in next season.
Whoever gets it knows the role they are walking into, it’s a head coach role. Also, being the ownership groups own hire should ensure the relationship between them and said coach is pretty good, in the short term atleast.
Feels like a great opportunity to me. Perceived as a small club with biggish club budget. Real chance to be seen as over-performing and potentially get name on list of higher level clubs for next move.
The reality is none of us know what went on behind the public facade.
It may indeed be as simple as the ownership group wanted to change the role from manager to head coach & MB was unable to reconcile that with how he saw the role.
It could be as complex as some of machiavellian theories that have been espoused across not only The Gasroom but other social media outlets.
I am not convinced we will ever know, but I am sure there are mighty tomes to be written interpreting every word, inflection, gesture etc. of the interviews of Blooms pre & post departure to support or debunk the plethora of theories that have been shared.
Maybe we go super left field for the next manager and have an AI machine learned Champ Manager genius? The AI could have a person (Sam Grace) deliver the training sessions, deliver the team talks and make in game decisions based on the AI input?
